Hillary Clinton and the Death of Mainstream Politics
The classic story unfolds. Corruption is brought to the forefront. Parties are fractured. Donald Trump heralds in a new politics, with media at hand, and a bold approach. This is how a political system resets, and this is how people regain their semblance of control. The disenfranchised sub-half of the left wants Sanders in the White House. A good majority of the right wants Trump. Each candidate battles in reigning in the votes of those who will listen. Each does so in the spirit of revolution. Both are called populist. Both are fighting against the established powers that be. This same story is unfolding before both the left and the right. People on both sides are angry because they want their voices heard, and they are sick of self-serving politicians forcing a candidate they don’t trust down their throats; be it Crooked Hillary, or Lyin’ Ted, and although the nicknames originated with the Trump campaign, they have been adopted by supporters of Sanders, and this in turn speaks for itself. Furthermore, the Democratic Party is having an internal struggle, and there is word of revolt. The Republicans are going through similar problems, but they have managed to hold their party together, and even to potentially strengthen it. They also have at their hands the stronger figurehead, and a clearer shot at victory.
At the same time, both sides are at each other’s throats and it will be wiser and more beneficial to all if they remain enemies of thought, and enemies of philosophy, rather than enemies of violence. The people on a little less than half of the left have their majestic and morally superior bird whisperer. They look over and see on the other side of the fence, a candidate who they believe will bring about the destruction of the world, and they battle him with emotional arguments. Many are acting as if they are personally afraid of his presidency, and I’m sure some actually are. To the right, there are two enemies, and they are equally repulsive. To the right, each of these candidates would bring about the downfall of the United States, both economically and morally. They see holes in the left’s fabric of reality. They see words and opinions not reflecting the truth that they are witness to. They see the history of socialist policies. They see our welfare system wasteful and ineffective, its effects far-reaching. They see productivity and entrepreneurship at the gallows. They see money leaving the economy. They see their towns deserted, their stores, and mines, and factories closed. They see the left is weak and faltering, their arguments shallow, and like a worthy opponent they are preparing for the decisive blow. All suppressed opinions will simmer in the dark and develop, and when they do, they will emerge with their new vision for the world, and Hillary Clinton will be the political sacrifice at the hands of the new world order. Who she really is as a person, beyond all reasonable shadow of a doubt, will remain an unreachable truth, but not only do actions speak louder than words, but words also have a way of contradicting themselves. In an age when so much is recorded, shared, and archived, one can no longer hide behind the vail of a clouded past.
Finally, and most importantly; at the depths of our political struggle, there is an underlying current which transcends all political discourse. There is a stark realization that all opinions are not equally valid. There is a realization that some opinions are not rooted in research and significant thought, and that the people who hold such opinions should never be given the power to act on them. There are people who understand that well-researched and thought-out points of view by the men and women on either side of any debate, are equally valid. This understanding is the birthplace of rational discourse and compromise, aimed at the greater good of all who inhabit the earth. Even for those with whom we disagree.

The opinions expressed herein are artistic in nature and do not represent the entirety of the author’s thoughts on the subject. For the sake of transparency, the author wishes to state that he currently identifies more strongly with the right, although he maintains some elements of leftist thought. He believes in reasonable social liberalism, and an economic system strongly based in capitalist principles. He believes in respectful honesty and frankness among all people. He believes that everyone has the right to a peaceful world and a healthy existence. At the same time, he believes that some people deserve less, and that some people deserve more, and that some people do not deserve our respect. People who infringe upon our collective morality are only looking out for themselves. Be careful of those who think only of what their benefit will be, whether it be material or spiritual. Do not waste your energy on those who are incapable of listening. But if they use violence as a means to their ends, they are to be subjugated into the deepest bowels of the Earth, because they are a cancer which seeks only a mutual destruction.

Where we are has been carefully planned by those who study history, whether the fall of the roman empire, charlemagne, etc.

There is a playbook.

But things have a way of not being the same as they have occurred previously.

One thing always seems to be the same: how to obtain cheap, subservient labor.
