1. Its always been around, people didn't use to use it to get high until the Oxycodone supply started getting fucked with, and they added the coating that stops you from doing it to get high. that's kind of exaggerated. Usually its not the person on the slow descent through opiod addiction that dies from Phentynol, unless its a really bad pill. When I worked for a concrete company 2 years ago, I watched my supervisor crush like 5-6 carfentynols a day, he said it was the only way he could function without getting sick.

Usually what kills people with opiods is relapsing after being clean for a while *because their tolerance goes down, and what used to be a normal dose for them will now kill then* or from a bad pill from a batch that was not mixed properly before it was pressed. So some pills in the batch will be duds, and others will be way too strong.

Full disclosure here. I don't do opioids, but I do like my coke, and this sucks. I had a few friends that were put in the hospital because of fentynol laced coke, and I know a lot of people here that have died over the years from it.
