London could bask in months of sweltering temperatures due to unusual meteorological conditions, forecasters have said.

The south-east - and other areas of Britain - could be set to sizzle from early June as high pressure moves in.

Temperatures are likely to hit 30C, in part due to the La Nina weather phenomenon which could follow warmer ocean temperatures during El Nino.
