Frustrated at work | |
Bible-Tard User ID: 71987790 United States 05/25/2016 02:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let me start by saying, I am extremely blessed by my creator and he always provides my needs and I do not want for anything. Thank you Y'shua! My frustration at work is coming to a head: I have been with an IT reller for 5 years in October. During my time there I have not been able to land a single large client, so far. I have spent countless hours cold calling, using lead resources, using email and every possible sales technique known to man and I still have not landed any large clients. My company already serves all of the major potential clients in my region thru other well experienced, long-time sales managers. I currently service a single client who was passed down to my by a senior sales manager who found the client to be too difficult and persuaded me to take them over as a training exercise. Although I am very responsive and detailed in my work, this client fails to generate revenue and is a very difficult to deal with. Smaller potential clients are in the region but don't generate enough sales to even waste my time on and my employer frowns on small clients, so I concentrate on trying to land big clients, like fortune 1000 companies and public orgs. This however has proven very unproductive for me and since this position is commission only, my patience is wearing very thin. I sent a very sincere email to my boss explaining my frustration, thanking him for the opportunity but explaining how the lack of opportunity is making me question the field. I asked for salary and some commitment from the company to me in exchange for my continued service. He responded nicely and sounded like he was willing to make an offer. 2 weeks later, when we were scheduled to meet to discuss my salary, another sales manager had a death in the family and completely disrupted everything I had cultured up until then. Everyone including my boss were frantic to help the manager who lost his kid, which I completely understand, but now how do I refocus and get the boss to see my situation is still unresolved and I am still going to quit if they don't start showing me some appreciation? |
