The life and death of Mona Ann Lisa on the Moon, 32,000 years in the making by George B. (All rights reserved Unpublished work (c) 2016 George B.)

When William woke up the next morning he had a much clearer head and he realized the authorities would eventually get around to tracking down one of their prized secrets.

The shuttle, where Sleeping Beauty was now safely resting, was way too big to be keep hidden. Especially when it was only 30-50 miles from where she was taken. He need solutions and he needed them soon.

Meanwhile, Mona had decided to a time regression in ShadowLand, starting with the point in time Harmony was discovered to be missing. She and Genesis return to the underground facility and began the regression a day at a time.

Nothing happened for several weeks then Harmony suddenly shows up with a pair of the most unlikely visitors she ever saw. They were ancient humans. Mona was not use to old people. In her whole existence, old was nothing like it was in this era of human existence. Her parents before they died aged, and even the ancient Silver and Prometheus were old but not like this. How these two functioned she could not fathom.

She and Genesis were fascinated by the unlikely pair that were with Harmony when she disappeared.

After a hearty breakfast of pancakes with sausage, eggs and coffee, William noted that Windbag had quite a healthy appetite as usual. He then turned to him and said with as much concern and respect as he was capable. You know, I don't know who or what you are, but I am forever in your debt. Because of your love for good food and drink, from this day forward, I am going to honor you by calling you Gourmand. Windbag, grinned from ear to ear.

William asks: "So, Gourmand what is your last name?" Windbag turned behind him where William had an ancient element table plastered to the wall and pointed to element 74. Rutledge had to get up and look closer because of his failing eyesight.

William snorts: "Tungsten, OK! Gourmand Tungsten . . . it is . . . or GT for short."

William continues: “You know GT we have to leave here and find another place to hide. JPL who had possession of Sleeping Beauty will come looking shortly after they confirm she is missing. My guess is when you removed her from the room, bells and whistles went off that warned them she left the building. They probably thought it was a malfunction and having their hands full they delayed checking, but will check soon. My guess is: we have probably 24 hours before they find us here. How fast can we load the Mules and provisions in that flying contraption and be out of here?”

G.T. stands up immediately and rushes out to load the Mules; within a few hours the six of them are in the air . . . William, GT, Sleeping Beauty and the Three Mules.

As Mona and Genesis progressed in the timeline, going in real time forward every minute, they were fascinated watching the unlikely pair with Harmony, them suddenly (bingo!) Harmony vanished again. They watched the two leave the underground room and head for the top of the crater’s rim. The two got in the strange craft and lifted off.

Mona and Genesis watched them jump just a few miles and land in a deep valley between two mountain ranges. The compound had a couple of domed shelters, gardens, a few water tanks and some fencing. The two landed, unloaded what looked like three quadrupeds that Genesis recognized as horse-like animals. In Mona’s day horses had not evolved into draft and riding animals, they were still the size of a good size canine.

Mona and Genesis checked on Harmony to see she was OK. They found her in the lower rear hold of the craft, and she was just fine. They decided to maintain 24/7 surveillance on Harmony from this point until she was permanently extracted to LeviathanIV. Now Mona needed to figure out when and how to make the extraction and under what circumstances.

They were in the air and William told GT he felt like they were being watched but he didn't have any evidence to prove it. He told GT who was flying the craft to keep it as low to the terrain as was safe. He was looking for a place to hide that was high and remote. Somewhere further into the interior that JPL hopefully would not think was habitable. They had enough provisions to last weeks almost anywhere so they didn't need or want to be close to any population.

They found a nice high valley in West Texas about as remote as there exists within a reasonable flying distance.

Mona knew the two curmudgeons were running from whomever had controlled Harmony for well over 100 years. How they knew of Harmony' existence and how they pulled off the caper she was not sure. How and where did they get that advanced craft? She was so intrigued, she wanted to confront them herself; as well as, thanking them for their service to the Federation.

As was their custom Rutledge and GT had a meal cooked over a campfire, though they could have stayed in the craft and eaten. Somehow it wasn't the same. Now the two talked about what the future might be, at least William did.

William said: "I really don't know what is coming next. All I know is the Good Lord got us here for now. I figure whatever happens next will be a surprise. I can't believe all this is for nothin. Gourmand, you are a help I never expected, wish you could say something. You must be tired of listening to me go on all the time. You are not from Earth are you?"

GT shook his head, No.

William continued: "Your story must be a real good one, are you human?'

GT shook his head, Yes.

Gourmand shakes his head, Yes.

Rutledge: "Do you think they are coming back?"

"Well, that is good news!" William declares. "You know I still feel like someone is watching; I bet we are not alone. I wouldn't doubt we run into someone soon. My hunch is it won't be an enemy though, I've got a calm feeling about it."

Mona discussed the status of Harmony's situation thoroughly with all the known details. Everyone in the TPE (Temporal Pivotal Event) Study Group agreed with the recommended actions. They all felt it was appropriate and a reasonable risk to snatch Harmony from the 2090 AD TimeLine using a 3D Mission. Mona and Genesis were going to meet the two old men on the top of the mountain for breakfast, uninvited. They would have sufficient armed backup in case the authorities arrived unexpectedly.

Mona was getting anxious and nervous but was determined she would go. She would be the one to retrieve her clone, her Sister.

William woke and started preparing breakfast but only after he checked in on Sleeping Beauty. His heart ached because he thought he would never really meet her or talk to her, he could only gaze on her beautiful face.

He loved her from the first moment he saw her on the Moon in the Summer of 1976. She haunted him from that day forward and now his life was all but over. His only reasonable desire was to make sure she was as safe as possible before he died. It wasn't much, but it would have to do.

Sometimes Rutledge couldn't believe his life, it started with such promise. His was an Air Force Academy graduate at the top of his class, top grad in pilot training, a Masters from MIT in Engineering and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Stanford. Chosen for the Astronaut Training Program as the youngest candidate ever. Chosen for the Apollo 20 Mission even after the Moon landings were publicly ended.

This covert mission was an enormous success, he and his Cosmonaut buddy brought back advanced artifacts, technology and of course Sleeping Beauty.

Then the decline into anonymity began. He could never talk about or leverage anything he did or saw on the Moon. NASA, JPL, etc. didn't want him around because he was a threat to their exclusive proprietary rights. The Powers That Be (TPTB) basically paid he and Alexey to get lost and keep their mouth's shut. For them a living death. They made sure neither would work for either a public or private agency that could tempt them to spill the beans or use their knowledge.

William was retired at 31 years old. He took off to the wilderness and became a desert rat and rock hound collecting and cataloging geodes. Alexey became a fossil hunter in the most desolate areas of Siberia.

He didn't marry because he never fell in love with any of the women he dated and never felt he could share his lot with another human. He was Lonely and depressed most of his 145 years; but very, very use to his situation.

William fixed a gourmet supper after they unloaded the mules and put them in the corral. Instead of beans and cornbread he grilled some steaks, sautéed some onions and mushrooms, baked some potatoes and made an apple pie. Windbag was in heaven, especially when Willian broke out a bottle of his best homemade wine. They toasted their new guest who remained in the shuttle where the best technical connections existed for the life support stasis equipment.

Windbag was hooked, food was the real thing! As a Mechan, tasting and ingesting food was not part of their existence. He was digging this!

For the first time in 124 years, William was at peace, he slept deeply and long.

AC18,

Lol! I did think of it but my take is different. Have you ever watched a pet or animal in general after eliminating some excess baggage. They are excited and display a little ritual of relief. They are quite happy, it need not be a negative experience for any living organism.

The snatch and grab team was assembled quickly. However, Mona had been thinking about this for weeks. It was fantastic that Harmony's protectors now had her in a remote and relatively secure location. This gave Mona the chance to extract her clone in a humane and sane process.

All surveillance indicated the authorities had no clue where she was. This meant she could do some explaining to Harmony's benefactors. Mona was most curious of who and what they were.

Rutledge was cleaning up after breakfast. As usual Gourmand was enjoying his third and last cup of coffee of the morning. Even around their camp fire, It was very brisk this morning, since they were above 6,000 feet. The chilled air made their old bones feel alive.

William was looking at the sunrise in the east when he saw two trim, very feminine forms appear backlight by the sun. The glair blocked any clear details, but neither were carrying weapons.

As the pair approached, William knew things were about to change dramatically. There were no roads or trails to this location. No one could have gotten here without extreme effort.

As the two strangers approached William said in a calm, firm and loud tone: "welcome ladies! can I offer you some coffee?"

Mona responded: "yes, as a matter of fact, I would love some coffee. My name is Mona and this is my niece Genesis."

William: "would your niece like some coffee as well?"

Genesis responded: "I'm not much of a coffee drinker, tea is much more to my taste."

William: "well pretty lady, you are in luck. GT go get some tea bags and two more cups from the ship." Gourmand immediately responded and went for the tea and cups.

William: "My name is William Rutledge and that scruffy excuse for a human getting the tea bags is GT. You ladies here on business or pleasure? Out for a morning hike or do you have serious business?"

Mona: "Well, William, may I call you William?" He nodded, yes. "We are here to help and secure your treasure from harm and ultimate destruction."

William: "are you the ones watching us the last couple of days?"

Mona's surprise was evident: "well yes, we were following you."

William: "you want Sleeping Beauty, don't you? Why should we allow that?"

Mona responds: "well William, since we are not under any threat of discovery presently, I will try to explain a very complex story. You deserve an explanation. But before I continue, may I ask you something?"

William: "well yes, of course, may I call you Mona?" Mona nodded, yes.

Mona: "How did you come to know of Harmony, the treasure hidden in your craft?"

William: "Harmony! That is a beautiful name, what a beautiful name!" William coming back to focus again responded. "Well, 124 years ago I found her on the Moon and Alexey and I brought her to the Earth. Alexey is now dead but I for some reason . . . I am still here."

The tears welled up in his eyes and he asked: "who are you that I should entrust Harmony too?"

Mona: "that is a very good question, William, I am Harmony's Sister and we have been involuntarily separated in your reality for almost 32,000 years. She is deep in stasis and has a chance to be re-animated if we can take her to my experts and her family."

Genesis: "Yes, and so you are one of the men who I saw take Harmony to Earth in 1976 AD?"

William: "I see, OK; Mona, can you tell me why she was on the Moon?"

Mona: "Harmony was the communication contact and basically had been navigating the MotherShip Falcon along with a brave man, named Captain White of the World Alliance in a successful mission to save the Earth and prevented the extinction of the human race.

In the process she was lost and assumed dead for almost 32,000 years. Just now, in unbelievable irony, she repeated a similar feat, without her the Earth would have been destroyed by the Mechan."

William: "The Mechan, is that what you call those bastards?

Genesis: "Yes, and so you are one of the men who I saw take Harmony to Earth in 1976 AD?"
Fascinating!"

William: "if you didn't know where Harmony was until today how were you there to see what we did in 1976!"

Mona: "That is a complex question and the answer is not understandable without a knowledge of quantum mechanics, entanglement, time regression and Temporal Physics."

William: "try me, I have a PhD in Theoretical Physics."

Mona: "Ok, but let's wait for a different time and setting."

“Gourmand is probably why Harmony is with us today. I couldn’t have moved her without his help, assistance and knowledge.”

GT returned with the tea bags and cups. He poured the coffee for Mona and made the tea for Genesis. Gourmand thought he recognized Mona and was suspicious of Genesis as well.

Mona and Genesis thanked him for his efforts. Mona asked: “How did you two meet up. “

Rutledge answered: “GT here can’t speak so I will have to fill in the blanks as far as I know his story. About three months ago I was camped in the desert on my way to the JPL facility where Harmony was housed. I assumed he was attracted by my campfire and he sort of invited himself to supper. I thought about shooting him first but now I am very glad I didn’t. Gourmand is probably why Harmony is with us today. I couldn’t have moved her without his help, assistance and knowledge.”

Mona looked at GT in amazement, she couldn’t see how either one was able to do what they must have done.

Mona thought this is a first, I didn’t even know what a mule was until I saw one just the other day.

The discussion went on for about two hours and Mona felt like it was time to close the process and get down to moving Harmony to LeviathanIV. She told William she was not going to take Harmony without giving William Rutledge and his companion the option to return with them and Harmony.

Mona, held out three Federation Flying Diamonds. She told William and GT the devices were to be placed on your person. Once imprinted with your DNA and present 4D coordinates, it can be used to take you anywhere you have the 4D coordinates to go.

She told them it was time to take Harmony where she was safe and could be re-animated; it was their choice to come with them or leave there and go where they wished.

Both William and GT decided to go with Harmony but asked about their Mules. Mona took out three more Flying Diamonds and told William to place them around the Mules' necks. Mona thought this is a first, I didn’t even know what a mule was until I saw one just the other day.

She wondered how Gourmand Tungsten would react if he knew she was the human that brought his kingdom and power to an end?

Harmony had been watching from her piece of reality. A reality not Twilight, not ShadowLand and not 3D either. It was a different reality that could transcend all the others. She discovered it during the 32,000 years of suspended animation. The imposed stasis had heightened her quantum consciousness and (through the solitude) had alllowed her to practice and participate in freedoms few sentients had ever experienced. That is where she met Nadera of the Mechan and A-Zeal of the plasma based creatures. Her curse was she was pure consciousness in this reality and was unable to reach out physically to the people she loved except through proxies, dreams and visions. She knew of William Rutledge and was strongly attached to his deep love for her. She knew of Mona, Harry, Destiny, Chaos, Sam1, Dr. Dearborn the Sisters and all their children as well.

The new object of her attention was King Tungsten. She wondered how Gourmand Tungsten would react if he knew she was the human that brought his kingdom and power to an end?

You see Harmony helped Nadera to form the Resistance that overthrew the King and initiated the transformation of the Mechan. It was she that called A-Zeal to end the cleansing ‘Process’ ordered by King Tungsten.

It was now her time to experience being physically human. She was frightened but prepared for the transformation. She wondered how painful the process would be. . . She was ready!

The Sisters were in a buzz, more questions than Mona and Genesis could answer in a week.

Everyone quantum leaped into the clean rooms in the Sisters' lab complex. They even had provisions for the quadrupeds. Harmony was leaped into a medical unit especially prepared by the Sisters for her re-animation ordeal. William and GT were scanned as were the mules for unexpected organisms and allowed to go to their quarters

Mona wanted the Sisters to evaluate the two old men eventually for some repair and rejuvenation but only after they had dealt with all the issues regarding Harmony.

The Sisters were in a buzz, more questions than Mona and Genesis could answer in a week.

Mona need some down time with Harry and took some time off. It would be a few days before things started to pop again.

This was when things got real complicated!

As would be expected Rutledge and GT were preoccupied with their new surroundings. William was digging in to all the new technology and GT was busy sampling all the different types of food from thousands of different civilizations and cultures.

Gourmand calculated it would take him over 500 years to make a dent in the enormous diversity of tastes, textures and aromas. They both checked daily on their Mules who were now housed in their own personal bio-spheres especially constructed for all their biological and emotional needs.

The two old Earthlings were being given Telomerase reverse transcriptase to lengthen and repair their DNA damaged from the aging process. Telomerase lengthens telomeres in DNA strands, thereby allowing normally aging and dying cells to otherwise become potentially immortal. The down side is these same enzymes can case cancerous cells, so close monitoring was required.

The rejuvenation process was the Sisters project and they began first by doing a gene sequencing on both William and GT. This was when things got real complicated!

The Sisters called Mona for an emergency meeting but did not mention what it was about. Mona was told to expect a lengthy meeting.

As usual Moonbeam was the primary presenter. She began with a recount of the actions taken.

Moonbeam: "As you are aware we have been giving William and GT the anti-aging enzymes in preparation for a complete gene repair procedure. To do the mutation eradication process we needed to reconstruct and map their entire genome, so we did gene sequencing on both men.

When that was accomplished, we discovered something very unexpected. First off, William Rutledge's sequencing showed a normal human male with the mutation percentages in the expected range for a man 145 years old in the 2090 AD Timeline. However, this was not our findings for GT.

GT's mutation status and artifacts ratio place him in a group of individuals that are billions of years old. Those humans he compares best with are: Sam1, Chaos, Geedeeze and Medusa."
