While it is widely accepted that the Nazis were defeated with Germany's formal surrender in 1945, this is only partly true. New Swabia (German: Neuschwabenland) is an area of Antarctica...

I knew man that was an Ensign stationed aboard the USS Mount Olympus and sailed with him(Byrd)during Operation Highjump.....he was sworn to secrecy and only a few months before he died he told me....and anyone else that would listen....they were indeed attacked by flying saucers....with a "power ray" of enormous power....he reasoned for the most part they were allowed to escape....implied the flying discs could have easily destroyed everyone and everything

Re: Neuschwabenland, Antarctica
Serious question though... about the google earth imagery of Antarctica. Why are there all of those lines that appear to be from stitched satellite images? I mean, I get that they would stitch them to make a full rendition but why does this only occur in Antarctica and not any other area on earth?

Must be trying to cover up the hole lol!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46690563

Go to the center and look for the name Bush, not president Bush, most likely another one from that time. It hard to back track this nuts but, when it keep coming back to the same latitude and longitude markers, you can see more. I found thing by asking for a coffee shop, the nearest coffee shop. Dang Russia has a nice area. Not every country has places down there, but they have this round building like a UN type thing with, round everything, call it the round table. Not that many people at the table.

Cutest thing I found was some place like the movie about the lord of the rings, Hobbits place or something a valley and houses here and there, not full of people in the area. A lot of room for someone to get away from everything. Now the inland lake beautiful, ships on it, and they got there, how, a river going up to it.

It is tricky and I can not for the life of me understand any reason to keep secrets about it unless there is a group, and it not just scientific no it is not, they go there, but only set group and other countries beg to be allowed. If you go near it without the approval of the group over it, you will not come back.

There are cruises to the outer islands but not the main Antarctica main land. Thing is the old maps from 1500s etc, showed no ice or snow while they mapped it, so sailors could know where to get water and food, yep, food and water for voyages, that was why the marking of animals and trees etc and anything that they could make money from, this was and is the mainland of Antarctica and the name they named then are still there today. We have had no ice age since.
Sorry I got a headache

That was interesting. Here's a general question for GLP. We obviously can't ask Admiral Byrd any questions....but I wonder if any of his decendants been questioned? I'm guessing he told someone. secrets

Re: Neuschwabenland, Antarctica
New Swabia (Norwegian and German: Neuschwabenland) is a cartographic name sometimes given to an area of Antarctica between 20°E and 10°W in Queen Maud Land, which is claimed as a Norwegian dependent territory under the Antarctic Treaty System. New Swabia was explored by Germany in early 1939 and named after that expedition's ship, the Schwabenland, itself named after the German region of Swabia.

Germany made no formal territorial claims to New Swabia.[8] No whaling station or other lasting bases were built there by Germany until the Georg-von-Neumayer-Station, a research facility, was established in 1981. Germany's current Neumayer-Station III is also in the region.

You can go swimming in Antarctica, on deception Island, it a old volcano water basin and it stays warm, No thanks. I'll stay home it cost to much to get there. The cheap tickets for two is about 14,000. Waste of money.

As far as the rest of Antarctica a lot of lies about everything there.
 Quoting: hankie

Says someone who's never been there...

I've been, twice, and it was worth every penny. It's spectacular, full of incredible wildlife, interesting people and amazing scenery.

The only "lies" told about Antarctica are by scammers making up stories to sell their books and videos, and by idiots who believe them.

And you need to shop around, because there are plenty of cheaper options in a quick search.

"Incredible wildlife"?

As in children that the elite are stealing and taking to Antarctica?

Wtf are you talking about?
