Not sure, but he doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs. BUT HEMP IS NOT A NARCOTIC. The only resistance to legalizing it once people realized you can't get high on it, would be corporate interests, as usual.

When/if the economy crashes, we're going to need as much production as we can get in order to survive. Would be good to already have the hemp industry up and running.

The United States is the only industrialized nation in the world that prohibits industrial hemp cultivation.

Yeah, man. Hemp could save the world if some big powers would get the hell out of the way. I've got about 100 acres of Black Belt Alabama timberland that is just waiting to be cleared for a hemp farm when they'll let me.

one of the major issues seems to be the cost of conversion of the harvesting and processing equipment

Probably less insecticide and fertilizer as well. And certainly less cultivation.

Hemp, grown under license mostly in Canada, is the most publicized “new” crop in North America. Until very recently the prohibition against drug forms of the plant prevented consideration of cultivation of fiber and oilseed cultivars in Canada. However, in the last 10 years three key developments occurred: (1) much-publicized recent advances in the legal cultivation of hemp in western Europe, especially for new value-added products; (2) enterprising farmers and farm groups became convinced of the agricultural potential of hemp in Canada, and obtained permits to conduct experimental cultivation; and (3) lobby groups convinced the government of Canada that narcotic forms of the hemp plant are distinct and distinguishable from fiber and oilseed forms. From experience. I’ve grown gardens and occasionally pot was a crop. Tomatoes brussels sprouts squash and pot.

I have read hemp is very hardy and has few pests. Also that with the right kind of soil management hemp won’t deplete the soil. I’m not really in the mood to go searching to prove that. Be my guest.

Given all of that and you can grow just about any where. It is a really hardy plant

processing is the most work intensive aspect. industry is still undeveloped in servicing all stages of production. in america, anyway.


rest of the world is ahead in production. CBD oil from drug crop isn't even necessary either.

According to the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), in 2010, 7.5 tonnes of hemp flowers were harvested by European hemp farmers for essential oil. Most European hemp farmers grow in France.


what kind of farmer would use hemp seeds for animal feed..that is operating at a loss. hemp is more nutritionally dense in protein and fat than fatty bison.

it is a good food crop for humans once the harvesting hurdles are dealt with. far more productive to use the waste fibers/leaves for silage as well as building material. using the oil as a dedicated fuel is probably better than corn ethanol, though.
