Unfortunately, I live in New York, and not the city, so the economy everywhere here sucks and everything is ran by Leftists and Democrats, so it's even worse than you might think. I've considered moving, but to where? Every place has something bad about it anymore, and I'm an older single woman, so I don't want to go anywhere that is unsafe or too large since I am by myself. I like the small town I live in, but unfortunately there is no opportunity and although cost of living is low, many people in the area are on welfare or working some medical, service or old age related jobs for which the pay is pretty abysmal (unless you are a doctor or nurse or some kind of social worker). Also, all of these companies have you by the balls if you don't have a Bachelors degree, so then you have to go and get yourself into student loan debt to get one just so you can get a decent paying job. I think a large part of this is because in your small town there ARE folks who make and have money, but there is no impetus for them to spread it around in their community much, just in the "velocity of money" sense. |
