Red/yellow tinge in evening sky
Every evening now, starting around 21.40 central European time, the sky gets this red/yellow tinge that lingers for about 20 minutes or a bit longer. It changes the quality of the light, you can't miss it. It's similar to the ominous yellow light you often get before a thunderstorm. There is no thunderstorm though. This is from central Belgium. Has anyone else been noticing this?

Come on, I can't be the only one who's noticed this. It's really quite striking. My daughter came up to me the other night wanting to know what was going on with the light...

Yes, I have also noticed that the Sun now leaves the sky around this time and goes below the horizon, it never used to do this!

Is it not usually completely dark there at 21:40?

I'm not sure what you mean by that?

Personally I haven't seen the sun in the evening sky for ages because we've had thick cloud cover for a long time now. Even when the day starts out fine, by sunset the sun will be behind banks of clouds.

No, it's still light at that time. I was going to say sunset is about 30 minutes later (which it was today), but according to this website it should have set at 21.54.

Volcanic ash? I'm on an I pad or i would check a Volcano map to check proximity of your location, and perhaps wind charts.
Perspective is everything.

No, the nearest active volcano would be in Italy I guess.

Bumping this thread from yesterday, hoping for some input from the Sunday crowd.

Today is a clear, sunny day here so will watch the skies towards sundown.

Strange colors I've seen also. I'm in Tennessee. These red cinders and sunrises are like nothing I've ever seen here and I've lived in Arab for 40 years.

Erm, no. It has nothing to do with the sunset itself. It's like a dirty yellow to reddish glow to the quality of the light that only lasts for some twenty minutes. It's everywhere, not just in the west, northwest where the sun goes down.

Has anyone seen it?

Great pics, thanks for posting. Can see a lot of chemtrailing in them as well. I'm not actually referring to the colours in the sky around the sunset though, but to a pervasive yellow/red tinge that briefly alters the quality of the light before sunset. It seems to be all around, even filtering through thick cloud cover.

Re: Red/yellow tinge in evening sky
So we had the same thing tonight, in the same time window. The sky was largely blue behind some clouds and gradually the clouds got this pinkish hue. This is when the colour of the light changed.

At the height of it my daughter even got a text from a friend who lives 10 km away saying something like "OMG, the colour of the sky is golden".

I live in the city so I can't actually see what things look like in the sky just above the horizon; I'm just commenting on the light, which is everywhere. And to those who are saying "it's called a sunset" - no, that is not it, because the light never used to be like this consistently before sunset.

To corroborate what you are describing, it looks like most of the AllSkyCams near your area have a yellowish, dusty/grainy quality to them ... hmmm ...

Thanks for posting those! But I must say I'm not very good at interpreting skycam images. The dusty/grainy effect could be because we've had thick cloud cover here for several days.

If you have Volcano activity in Italy, you could very well be seeing the Sun set through Volcanic ash. It disperses in the upper atmosphere.

It's a warning of impending doom. See my son's dream of Europe he had a while back. Myself I also woke up and saw the block letters of Germany about a year ago, I feel it is a warning.

I am in Florida and again tonight the sky is like a light pinkish color on and off. We do have rain due to a tropical storm coming, but this weird bright sky in the middle of the night has been going on for about a year now. I and others have done threads about it.

Here are all the pics I took 6/20 Northern California 8:30-9pm. Keep in mind the solstice was at 3:33pm and the full moon rose at dusk.
