If you want a degree, get one in STEM, science, technology, engineering or math. Anything else is a waste of time because given enough time, most anyone can get a lower degree.

People getting STEM degrees are no joke, but everyone else surely is.

Races are not education problems. Education at the lower levels under college are. They are pumping out kids who cannot read, write, handle even basic math, or know how to use references, even computers for research (they only do media stuff with each other).
Now what happens when they go to a college? They let them in and take them for the grants, provide courses in remedial, non-college courses in reading, math, etc. and then if they receive satisfactory results----let them take on courses that they are not really prepared to handle and allow them to flunk out by the second semester. This way, it sends a subtle message: You are not qualified to be in College.

We were required to take a diversity course to graduate. In this class, we were encouraged to recruit minorities to our program and tell them how they could get full scholarships and a free ride. It was a little insulting, I think, considering how the rest of us had to go through a rigorous admissions process and pay our own way.

Giving a monkey a degree, it's just that. Trying to make people think that they are equal to others. Every thing they touch they destroy . Look at neighborhoods,schools, even the capital of the USA. If you can believe this, they actually lowered the standards to graduate. In the past, completing a graduate program involved writing a thesis. The department made that optional and replaced it with a "portfolio" option, which was basically just assembling a collection of your past work and giving a five minute spiel about it. No defense.

Out my entire class of 75, only two opted to actually produce original research. I was one of them. That year, something like 20 people didn't pass the portfolio presentation and had to redo it. There was a huge uproar and they replaced the whole review committee for being "too hard" and not passing everyone.

They are definitely lowering the bar.

Actually I already know the answer. It will be a combination of the two. Some with degrees that are really smart and can combine knowledge with common sense and those without degrees who can think outside the gimp herd mentality box using common sense and practical hands on knowledge or what some might call "experience".

Last week a professor at UCLA was shot by an individual whom he had mentored and guided through the Doctorial thesis program in engineering...The reason given was that the former student now felt that the professor had stolen some of his computer coding...In 2016...original ideas mean MONEY...I am not sure that I agree that the standards have been lowered.

Trust me...if your daddy is a Dr,you will get accepted to medical school,you will pass,and yes,even if you are as dumb as a box of rocks.
