Rape by Alcohol is the man's fault, Homicide by gun is the gun's fault - Liberal Logic fail of the day

The media has a clear message ~ one I agree with completely in the case of the Stanford Raper ~ Alcohol is NOT to be blamed for what happens in an intoxicated rape such as what happened at Stanford.

It is an outrage ~ and anyone defending or arguing that was just a he said she said college hookup ~ NO, that's not at all what happened here. Dragging her behind a dumpster ~ That's not a college hookup, that's a kidnapping/rape no different than someone pulling a woman into a van. Defenders of such actions are confusing their own guilty conscious ~ actions that may have been at least morally wrong, but were not rape ~ with this kind of story.

And the media is making it clear ~ like this story, MAN is to be blamed for rape, Not Alcohol.

So why is their message the exact opposite in the case of Guns?

30,000 killed by guns a year (not all homicides). 75,000 by alcohol ~ drunk driving deaths and homicides by gun ~ what should be considered "deaths against someone else's will, not by their own hand ~ a clearly identified victim" are about the same number.

So if Rape by Alcohol is a man's fault, why is homicide by gun the gun's fault?
