You Don't Have to Play a Scratch Off Ticket to Win.

Well, yeah...obviously as thats how they check to see if you won, by using the barcode.

Obviously the person that threw the winning ticket on the ground didn't know that. A lot don't. That's part of the scam. They make some of the games a little tricky so some people don't realize they won.

So your saying most people think they have to play the whole game and that the shopkeeper checks the card to make sure you have played the game and that you've won? It was more likely that the person thought they hadn't won so didn't bother to take it in to have it scanned. If someone doesn't have the common sense to realize that when they have a winning card it is the bar code that is scanned to confirm the win, they probably shouldn't be gambling in any form

A D this is why I never play scratch offs. 3 years ago the son of the foreigner that owns the quick art by my house, told me his dad scans the whole rolls. He said he had a hand held cracked scan, that could read them without having to remove the film on the barcode.

Just last year, a 225k scratch off was sold at that store. We haven't seen the owner, or his son since!!
