The first time I smoked pot was about 1973. I was at a party consuming the real gateway drug, alcohol, and someone started passing joints. I began to suspect that I had been lied to about the dangers of marijuana. After smoking a few times more it seemed crazy to me that it was illegal.

Whatever the reason for the big push to get it legalized it needs to be done.
