Quoting: C. 145721Everything else stemmed from that if you think about it. True. It's a well known fact that the Africans that were taken away from their homes in bondage were forced to listen to classical composition on the slave boats as they made their journey across the Atlantic to the "New World." Thus, they were able to influence early American roots genres such as gospel, blues, and bluegrass. |

Tchaikovsky (sp) 1812 ouverture reminds me of Iron Maiden for some reason. " I'll cut you like a box, along the flaps." If you're not aware of his work, I highly recommend it. Leave me alone and I'll return the favor. Guns and gardening, peaceful prosperity |

When I pull up to an intersection, I turn it down. Most people don't understand. I especially love Classical music at Christmas, oops, I meant the HolIDAYS. |

Lots of the younger guys at work look at me like I've gone senile when they hear me listening to it....at least until they've had a chance to actually listen to it as well. I remember when Frank Zappa testified in that stupid PTRC hearing in Washington. One of the people there asked him what kind of music his kids listen to, and was shocked when Zappa told them that while he didn't force anything on them, he encouraged them to listen to and learn about classical music. Clasical was Franks first love, and it shows in his music. Reality is interesting enough. |
emerald_glow User ID: 924761 United States 09/01/2011 06:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Classical music is from the time when people have been more human, with real emotions. Many of the classic composers were "illuminati", this is why I don't believe that they are the "bad guys". Impossible to make music like Mozart's Magic flute or Beethoven's symphonies with a malevolent evil spirit without emotions. Emerald_Glow |
