It's not for me, but the war on drugs is so much worse.

Yes.

Waste of tax dollars to be putting people in jail for a non-violent "offense". Shows up on background checks, makes it harder for them to find work. If they then go on some type of govt assistance as a result, more public $. Would prefer law enforcement focus resources on violent crime, embezzlement, training citizens on gun safety, self-defense.

 Quoting: jackleson

There are so many more important problems to be working on, like corruption in government, courts, and law enforcement.

The drug war, like prohibition, created a lot of that corruption and fueled it with lots of money.

I tried Marijuana and I enjoyed it a lot at first, but I stopped because it made me feel stupid. (Maybe it was unregulated chemical pesticides.)

If it were legal, I would probably try it again, but I would probably not care for it most of the time.

When I get work, it is so stupid and boring my brain becomes an impediment. Plenty of people are forced to do inhumanly boring work - they might as well be stoned to keep them happy.

If I were an old man, wandering forgotten around some depressing senior center, I would probably want to be stoned all the time. What difference would it make to anyone else?

What kind of cruelty is it that condemns so many people to pointless lives, mired in poverty and hopelessness, and refuses to let them find any pleasure or consolation?

Making drugs illegal hasn't done a damned bit of good for our society, and it has made all the wrong people wealthy.
