He decided that it would be cool to put the flag of the United States of America in his chimney and to use a spotlight to keep it lit at all times as a memorial to the troops who have died in the service of this country (which is regarded as an acceptable practice by the way). The Homeowners Association (HOA) called the display "grotesque" and "not within the bylaws of the HOA" They forced him to take the flag down, and he being a good citizen of this nation, complied with the questionable request. However, he has a new flag up that is at least 20 x 20 feet. Its amazing. He has it in his front yard now and lit up as per accepted practice. I have also put up my flag out front where it will remain from here on out , not only in support of his patriotism, but for all of our troops and the people who aren't blinded by own self serving notions. Happy Independence Day to you TRUE Americans. May you all find it within yourselves to fight for what this country was founded upon, because we are losing it to our decrepit , evil, self serving government and to the citizens who fall prey to the easy road paved for them. Never saw the flag flown anywhere on residential streets when I moved to attend UCLA. When I then moved to Vegas the apt complex owner insisted no one fly their country's flags as we had several international residents and they didn't want potential problems. Right after 9-11 I put up an American flag made out of Christmas lights. My immediate neighbors thought it was beautiful and a very practical way for cab drivers to locate our apt late at night when it was very dark. However the owner made me take it down. Later when I ended up in court over another silly dispute with the apt management I found I'd been blacklisted from ever renting an apt in the entire State of NV for the rest of my life. It also hurt me when I was seeking a job. I couldn't afford a lawyer at that time and ended up living in a series of very dangerous situations until my finances drastically improved. My present condo complex allows residents to fly flags and the US veterans always do so. Everyone is either Caucasian or Chinese, and the latter never complain as long as people are clean and quiet. I'm very thankful to God for feeling so safe and for my fellow true patriots who watch over me. |
