Soyuz Rocket to Launch New Planet-Hunting Observatory

A Russian-built Soyuz rocket is poised to launch a new European observatory designed to scan for new planets beyond our own Solar System.

The booster is set to lift off from the Central Asian spaceport of Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 9:23 a.m. EST (1423 GMT) on Dec. 27 to orbit. Riding aboard the rocket will be the Convection, Rotation and Transits (COROT) observatory to seek out extrasolar planets as they transit across their parent stars as seen from Earth.

Re: Live Launch of Planet Hunter
FINALLY ! Some country is looking for Nibiru and OTHER brown dwarfs, although not 'officially'.

Wonder if they will share the info ?
Not normally the Russian way, but maybe they will realize it would have to be a world WIDE effort for survival AND recovery to deal with a near miss ( inner solar system transite ) like the previous ones causing a pole shift/floods, IMHO.

A fresh start is what most here at GLP want, with politicians swinging from lamp posts, plus a LIBERAL sprinkling of lawyers !
