Oldmotherhubbard User ID: 59937141 United States 07/07/2016 09:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My opinion 2 years ago I had a family member shot and killed by police, I also have an officer in my family, so I don't feel as if my opinion/view is jaded. You'll never get a full story, he took his side to the grave. Let's look at the facts, 2 officers should have been able to over power him, the officer on the right lost his composure, he panicked and reacted with several shots. Could it have been prevented? Yes. We're the shots excessive? Yes. Was there a gun? Yes. Was the gun legally concealed? We don't know. What was his right arm doing? You can see his shoulder moving. Was he pulling the gun out in panic to show the officers he had a gun? Was he going for the gun to shoot? Was he just trying to get up? Fact- don't resist arrest, fucking don't. There are a lot of questions to be asked and answered and the fact remains they never will. I still stand by "don't put yourself in situations that are questionable and you won't die". Winterwinds User ID: 45916449 United States 07/07/2016 09:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No it wasnt. The black guy went for his gun. You can see the gun go off before the officer pointing his gun fires. Look at the car bumper next to where they're laying. The police received a call of a black man at that location pointing a gun at people. The police show up and see the man. They get into a tussle with him and now have him on his back. The one officer not with his gun out tries to restrain the black man and prevent him from grabbing his gun the officer that shot him tries to order him to cooperate and give up his weapon peacefully but the black man ignores that officer and gets his gun out then begins firing and in the struggle the black man's gun goes off first which provokes the officer to shooting the black man because he tried to shoot the police officers. Again, Look at the bumper of the car next to them when the firing begins and you'll see that the black man begins shooting first. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72489623 United States 07/07/2016 10:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It looks to me as though the first two shots came from the suspect's gun as he and the one officer were fighting over it because that officer immediately rolls over to get away. That officer's gun was still holstered. Appears that the second round of shots came from the other officer after his partner got out of the way. Totally justified, IMO. |
