I'm not buying this will the design, BUT, I totally believe that something must take place to remove guns from law abiding Americans. History has shown us that every dictator or corrupt govt. always come after the guns. Although Americans cannot compete with the arsenal of the US military, a gun in a patriots hand will still give them a fight to resist. Remember, all lawful gun owners are in a national database, so it will not be hard to know exactly who owns firearms. I may believe that if a national emergency was declared, and there was no electricity, or access to food....turning in your guns (due to civil unrest) would grant you access to food and water....this would sway a lot of owners of guns.... Turn the power (electricity) off for more than a week or two, and see how most of us will beg for relief from the feds....

They are shooting and killing police officer's now because of a wrongful killing. Could you imagine what kind of war would start if the police held our children....

They would have to declare marital law and call out the National Guard and military to have enough man power to just do the schools in the cities...

That is another workable scenario (as we saw in NOLA) however it would not be fast...and they'd need it to be fast to counter any organized resistance.

Keeping the kids locked down in schools would be fast, easy..hell they've already got them...they just keep them there.
