More teenagers today believe in magic and witches than Jesus. Almost every teen book and magazine is about magic.

I find it so beautiful that many of these kids that are studying magic, witchcraft and the occult are children of so called "Christians"!

These fucking parents don't have a clue what these kids are reading and don't really care either.

The kids see their parents as fake, shallow and stupid people following a false god.

And they are right.

Shamanism has always been around and will probably always continue to be.
The magic in these books, shows and movies is very romanticized. I doubt it much encourages youth to look into real occult and secret societies. If anything it probably just causes more to grow up and be interested in writing fan fics, furrydom and cosplay. However the ones that do show an interest in researching actual topics might notice similarities and be able to comprehend it easier.

Religion in the USA is probably different now because you are not legally able to beat the bible into your children anymore. It was a major source of control before and I'm sure being forced to recite the rosary in a dark cobwebby closet for 3 hours before being allowed to have dessert and go to sleep had some long term effect on people!

I have personal experience, and my child was shunned for some innocent things he said playing with friends, cast out and banished by Christian parents who refused to let their children play with my little boy, it broke his heart, just because he has a vivid and healthy imagination. Sick.
