Baltimore would be indirectly destroyed just by the nukes that would hit the NSA facilities along Route 32. You need to be about 125 miles from the I-95 corridor to have a chance at survival here on the east coast. |

He correctly predicted civil war in the US, that the end was slated from the whole hanging chad fiasco, after which our voting process was forever rigged, and that the Russians would bomb us starting in Jacksonville. I am about 100 miles south of there. Even if Titor was a fake, perhaps the fake info was divinely inspired. I know for a fact that bombs years ago were 80 & 120mt as standard. And its not done by increasing amount of plutonium. These things are tiny, by comparison. Did i get sucked into an parallel universe? parallel universe? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25235225 The tzar bomba was the biggest ever tested, not the biggest ever made, no one as of yet has been stupid enough to test one bigger. Go for it someone, please. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13257982 I'd rather be nuked where I'm at in the US, then have to live with what is coming on the world after. Would prefer to be one of the first ones out. I would consider that a blessing. |

A 50MT nukes is about the biggest that will work... yes they can be made bigger but they will only do the same damage as a 50MT because of the depth of the atmosphere. Bigger nukes are only good for space and underwater to create a giant tsunami. |

Bombers are too slow and could be shot down... In a Russian Nuclear attack, expect the cities; north of the Mason Dixon line; to be attacked by ICBM's. South of the Mason Dixon line, ICBM's would be inadequate, unless your talking about interior sections of the USA. I'd expect submarine launched SLBM's for the main attack on Southern States and cities that are close to the Gulf and Oceans. Hypersonic cruise missiles could be used for more stealth and penetration. This would limit yield to the low megaton or high Kiloton.... So if you live in Texas, then expect SLBM's in the low megaton range. I highly doubt that SS40's or SS20's would be used to hit Texas... Living in Oklahoma, I'd expect Tinker AFB to get hit with a 20meg or 40meg nuclear weapon. Outlying areas, south of Tinker, would get hit with smaller megaton yields from SLBM's... |

It's not just that, people seem to forget that nukes aren't intended to slaughter civilians, they are made to destroy strategic and military targets, so they are more concentrated on a target. One who chooses selfish actions has their reward, one who chooses selfless acts, also have their reward. |

Very high quality analysis! I would add that ANY Atlantic costal area with a high value military target would probably be struck first with sub launched missiles. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39042301 Surviving means enduring a slow, agonizing, incredibly painful death. However if you are in an outer zone survival from the radioactivity can be pretty good if you know some things to do and are prepare to shelter in place with adequate supplies It's the larger breakdown in social order and services that would kill many more than the blast You can count on America to do the right thing after exhausting every other alternative."
