And now they have released a white paper outlining their position...basically, that's their territory in their eyes and they fully plan to defend it: [link to news.xinhuanet.com] Thought I would start a separate thread for China as it appears to have no update thread of its own. This is something that could turn very nasty, very quickly. They are sending a warship to the South China Sea to "defend their territory". Given the speed at which they reacted, it's likely they were anticipating both the ruling and China's own response.
