1) Many "True Conservative purist" poseurs like you are IMPOSSIBLE to please. Unless you get your 100% ideal candidate, you're gonna throw a hissyfit and not show up to vote in November. Because you make decisions based on magical-thinking, emotions and proud ignorance of reality, facts, history, logic, political process, etc. Sorry to be so blunt, but I've just about had it with all you uncompromising, conspiracist clowns who are ready to hand this country to 8 more years of Hillary Soros.

2) Trump clearly wanted a young, hot woman as VP. Like his daughter Ivanka or the tough-cookie AG like Pam Bondi in a swing-state like Florida. He would have even settled for a Democrat like Tulsi Gubbard - to help him win those 10's of millions of Independents, Undecideds, Moderates, Young, Female, Minority and Reagan Democrat voters all over the country.

Problem? Tulsi Gubbard is being groomed for Presidency by Democrats and her people would have rejected Trump's offer. Same for Pam Bondi and GOP for 2020-2024 run (read: they don't want to "burn" her political future as VP, when Trump inevitably says some more stupid, offensive shit and loses to Hillary in a landslide)

Ivanka is an Independent, which would have caused a revolt among hard-core idiots like you ("OMG, Ivanka was friends with Chelsea Clinton, I told you Trump was a fraud and working for Clintons derp derp derps")

If that's not enough, liberal MSM would have been immediately attacked Ivanka for being "so inexperienced and clearly benefitiary of good ol' Nepotism".

3) Trump didn't want Gingrich because Newt's intellectual firepower, TPTB connections & out-spokenness clearly INTIMIDATE the hell out of Trump. You have to remember that while Donald likes to project this tough-Alpha male image, deep down he is a deeply insecure, thin-skinned Narcissist. This is a guy who 30 years later still remember a Vanity Fair editor making fun of his small hands!

Another problem with Newt: he is another old White Guy, which really makes this ticket even more vulnerable as "Anti-Women Old White Rich Guys" --- you can practically hear CNN and MSNBC= Huffington Post ads nonstop for the next 4 months.

It doesn't help that Newt abandoned one his wives when she got sick with cancer. Or at least, that will be the narrative.

And after he "betrayed" Trump by hammering him on the Mexican Judge thing, Donald simply doesn't forget or forgive such disloyalty. So Newt's out.
