2 cases of Vibrio have been reported in Nueces County, Texas
The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District announced Wednesday they have received two reports of Vibrio cases in Nueces County.

Vibrio bacteria naturally live in certain coastal waters and are present in higher concentrations between May and October when water temperatures are warmer. The bacteria can enter the body through an open wound or by consuming raw or undercooked shellfish and can make people sick.

Symptoms can include watery diarrhea, abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, severe pain, and blistering skin lesions.
