My 3 favorite TV shows. | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 61868562 United States 07/23/2016 03:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All in the Family Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61868562 That 70s Show The Carol Burnett Show (Big Bang Theory is in my top 10) Best Carol Burnett skit. The one problem with All in the Family is they were trying to make fun of conservatives. The producer, actors were all liberal idiots thinking that they could get away with it. I remember watching the tranny that knocked on the door. Imagine that in the 70's in any other TV show. Not gonna happen. I still love the show, but people were too damn stupid to realize that they were being made fun of. That's the power of writing a TV script. Haha, in your mind they're making fun of liberals while the whole entire series was making fun of conservatives. Even Carroll O'Connor was a huge liberal. They fooled everyone back then. Yeah, I was disappointed when I learned Carroll O'Connor was a liberal. I grew up watching this show and even back then I always felt like Archie was right on most things. The show is loaded with propaganda, but I will always love Archie and Edith. |

Quoting: The Comedian :D Next two are: The Simpsons (old stuff anyway) Original Star Trek Thanks Comedian I loved the simpson growing up.. Are they still putting out new episodes?! I've seen the .... what was it... American Guy or Family Guy crossover?? I think it was Family Guy.. it was funny Yeah, believe it or not, Simpsons is still coming up with new episodes. Not as funny as back in the heyday though. wow.. they must be the longest running tv series or something.. ...researching... WOW they are! [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Infinity = Zero |

Quoting: OneSweetWorld True Blood Sons of Anarchy Dexter United States of Tara. Shows I watch not religiously Outsiders--Hoping 2nd season is good Longmire--Nextflix Wentworth--Netflix Between--Netflix I was able to get into SoA... but not really any of the others... I recently tried to start watching Sliders as well.. considering when it was made its not bad! Early Dexter was da bomb. Never saw (or heard of) any of the others (except SOA, heard of it). Yes, Sliders was good, could have been great. They specifically sell the first 3 seasons of Sliders as a set because everything after was pretty much shit. Sliders was an excellent show for its time until season 4 ruined it. I think it went on for 5 seasons. I didn't care to watch anymore after starting season 4. I think a Sliders reboot with todays graphics and what not would be pretty cool Infinity = Zero |

It seems like everything turned to crap at some time after 9/11. The 90's sure were great. I graduated high school in '92. Life was a guaranteed success when I went to University and received a smart degree. Growing up in the late 70's and through the 80's was even better. The things we could do back then as kids would have us or our parents or both parties arrested. I have to keep a tight leash on my 11 year old everywhere we go and when I was 11 I could go anywhere at almost anytime in southern CA of all places. My parents just wanted me home by dark. It's sad what this world has turned into. I think the crap really started in '94, but 9/11 brought on the biggest gov't overstep in any time in this country. It went to complete shit. I still had my girl in 2005 and will never regret it. I just hope she doesn't have to live through a world full of idiots when I pass. Anyway, back to TV. Again OP, sorry to derail. |

Better if you ask me. Please don’t. I'm a little confused. Ask you what exactly? The quality between the show and movie? I'm only asking because you said please don't. Come on, that's the thing that people say when they really want to be heard. I'm interested. Another poster got me starting Babylon 5 again and I haven't seen it in years. What an amazing series. Even season 1 is so confusing if you haven't already watched the entire series, but still is full of amazing drama, war, politics, and a real believable space station of the future. I understand that wanting to know. It drives most of my life. Gotcha. I won't beg like an idiot. Did you notice that most people on here like either sci-fi or comedy? Does that make you wonder about the people that come to this site? It does me. I figured it would be mostly sci-fi and I was correct, but drama and comedy seem to be some of the favorites as well. Interesting. That is a very interesting point... i wonder if there could ever be a successful Sci-fi/comedy???? or if there ever has been... Dare i say Fringe dabbled in this with Walter Bishop..." I can't remember his name, but what an amazing actor. The kid actor and Anna Torva (hottie) were okay, but the old man's acting killed everyone else. Made them look like beginners. When I was a kid, there were no car booster seats for older children. Only disabled bikers wore helmets. No one called CPS or the police if you played in your yard or on the street. We organized our own games and sports. We roamed the malls and the stores by ourselves. There wasn't a boogeyman in every corner and under every bed. We weren't treated like convicts or prisoners at airports. We didn't harm ourselves if we were teased. Back to the topic, the '90s were a great decade for TV shows, probably the last great one. My top ten sitcoms, of the '90s, are Frasier, Seinfeld, Friends, Wings, Mad About You, News Radio, Just Shoot Me, Murphy Brown (overlap from the '80s), Coach, and Roseanne. Saturday Night Live was better back then too. |
