I was in school only a few miles away. The female teachers were all crying or in shock. The gym coach hauled in a tv for all the class to see Walter Cronkite report that JFK died at Parkland Hospital on November 22. Later in life I lived in NYC and was only a few miles away from the WTC when it too was attacked and collapsed. What are the odds of that occurring to a single person across the country? I walked home because all the subways were shut down and passed over the Brooklyn Bridge to smell burned rubber, bodies and crushed police cars and see everyone covered in ash, powdered concrete and asbestos Then we had to become aware of the new order of attacks against citizens inside our own country.  |
