Anonymous Coward User ID: 72634740 United States 07/24/2016 04:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wasserman Schultz resigning as party leader Debbie Wasserman Schultz is stepping down as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee at the end of the party's convention, which is set to begin here Monday. The Florida congresswoman's resignation -- under pressure from top Democrats -- comes amid hackers' release of emails that show DNC staffers favoring Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the party's 2016 nominating contest. Wasserman Schultz announced her resignation in a statement Sunday afternoon, saying she remains committed to seeing Clinton elected president. "Going forward, the best way for me to accomplish those goals is to step down as Party Chair at the end of this convention," Wasserman Schultz said in her statement. Bernie Sanders said Sunday that in the wake of the leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee its chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, should step down. Quoting: Daniel Higdon "I think should resign, period” as chair of the DNC, Sanders said on ABC's "This Week." “I told you long time ago that the DNC was not running a fair operation, that they were supporting Secretary Clinton,” Sanders told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos Sunday on “This Week.” “So what I suggested to be true six months ago turned out to be true.” Sanders says he is “disappointed” by what the leaked emails show but “not shocked.” [link to abcnews.go.com] She won't chair the convention, but where does it claim she resigned? |

(sarc) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8292187 Was she around when Obummer was running? Was he the favored child at the time? Could there possibly be old emails laying around? In one article I read, it said that she was involved with his campaign in 2012. (Going by memory here so someone correct me if I'm wrong.) |

Brazile, who briefly served as chair in 2011, is a CNN contributor, and must forgo that contract to take the reins of the DNC. And she's still subject to a party vote this week in Philadelphia. President Barack Obama paid tribute to her in a statement: For the last eight years, Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had my back. This afternoon, I called her to let her know that I am grateful." Read more: [link to www.politico.com] Last Edited by Daniel Higdon on 07/24/2016 04:30 PM |

The DNC chair was nowhere to be found at the Democratic convention (it was easier to find her at the Republican convention last week). She canceled a speech at a DNC credentialing committee. There will be a substantial number of emails that I understand will be leaked over the next couple of days, weeks, months, because it was not a one-month breach or a two-month breach. Come to find out the Russian hackers — and I have no conspiracy theories in my hands, I don’t know… STEPHANOPOULOS: Robby Mook had some. BRAZILE: They have been involved. They were in our system at the DNC for well over a year. So, we will learn more. Will some people have to step down, be removed, uh resign? I’m sure at the end of the day, yes. [link to iroots.org] LOl. As though Brazile and Hillary weren't up to their eye balls in this rigged system. Way to go. Pretend it was just a bunch of rogue Democratic operatives who will have to "resign." Not good enough. |

She's playing a a tough game of Russian Roulette though....the Clinton machine and by extension, the DNC et al has no problem mourning those who have been inexplicably suicided.... Obama said he has her back, so I'm sure she will be well taken care of. These people really need to be more careful about who decides to watch their back.
