List the Top Ten Sci-Fi Movies of All Time | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72648450 Canada 07/27/2016 06:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, I think we pretty much have covered the top sci-fi movies that most of us are aware of but what about the top 10 OBSCURE sci-fi movies ? Quoting: Artemis Rand Yes, I was actually thinking a bout this. There are some great, little known, films. Maybe you start a new thread about it. As a member you could "curate" the thread. How about having one post per film, a brief description ( no spoilers ) to show why it is worth watching. Obscure means low budget. It doesn't go well with sci-fi. Some movies like say the Cube managed to make it work but still, its a movie in 1 room. Its not top sci-fi. add Enemy Mine (1985) to the list You don't need James Cameron's budget from Avatar to make a great Sci-Fi film. Very low budget films include: Monsters ( almost no budget, special effects made in his bath tub! ), Moon, Ex Machina, Night of the living dead, Primer, 28 Days Later, Never Let Me Go, The Terminator, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Without costing 100 millions... maybe settle for 10-20 but its often 1-2 and its not enought. Your exemples are not "bad movies" but they barely qualify as sci-fi. Moon is probably the most sci-i and its all happening in a few rooms with 1 actor... anyway, i'm sure you get my point. |

Quoting: Fry_The_Brain I don't want to ruin anymore of the movie for you, but what was it called? It had two words in the title... It's not prometheus. But it came out a year or more before prometheus came out. It was called.... the fucked up thing is I had to think of this movie to tell my coworker, and it took me days to finally think of it, just out of the blue. Now I have forgotten it again, and it is driving me fucking insane. Pandorum? Cargo? (2009) Warning : The post above may be pure speculation.
