The environment balanced itself out, some places did have their environments changed permanently, yes - but life went on, the Earth went on and people went on. It was all part of a cycle of balances.

If you are all green, tree hugging, earth loving as a person, then learn to adapt to the changes of the Earth (which are heavily affected by the Sun).
