I run a live OS and not limited to just one. A SDmicro that locks can keep it clean.

Hacks like to mess up HD's, with a live OS they can't.

Linux Mint and Ubuntu are forks from Debian
CenTos is Red Hat

And it's GNU/Linux (OS plus kernel) Linux is ONLY the kernel

I use Debian

Anyway read this from fsf.org

If you want speed, try puppy and E20 as Windows manager ir you can try linuxfromscratch, SLackware or Arch

What is your favorite Live OS?

Like Tails for example, is that what you mean?

What other Live OS do you recommend?

Thanks for the heads up.

I've tried Linux Mint and Ubuntu in the past, and am just brainstorming which one might be cool.

I love the idea of a "Live" OS, that seems the easiest solution for simple Internet browsing to be honest.

(As long as you don't have to spend an hour configuring it each time lol).

Thanks for the continued brainstorm session, appreciated.

Would rather not say because I don't use a proxy and the hacks don't like me posting here.

Thing about a live OS is that you can always switch to another and they work on really old machines, all it takes is a reboot.

Just pick one and try it to see if you like it, that's what is cool about going live.

add persistence to your flash drive. For many linux distros, it'll give you 2 Gb, which is plenty to config and also save docs, etc...

dude - when you install the iso on the live flashdrive, add persistence so you can config/save the OS. You will have enough storage to save some files too. Mint 18 32 bit works nice. For old PC's, LXLE 32 bit is the bomb!!

Arch linux, best middle option between Debian stability and Gentoo control.

Debian is a close 2nd, but I like flexibility of pacman and yaourt better.

Haha, yep.

One thing you could do, is put a bunch of HTML links on dropbox, so you can easily access favorites via the cloud.

Only problem with that, is that I don't think Linux likes .htm or .html files, which totally sucks.

A few Distros don't recognize them, which is epically lame.
