Not sure what your art speciality is but my hubby paid good $$ for painting of our dogs as a gift for me! One of my fav gifts ever! Us pet lovers are a tad crazy! Also- posters of city, town, schools etc are really popular in the speciality stores in my area.

Try hooking up with an interior decorator/home stager/new home builder and placing your artwork in homes (with contact info) that way. Area boutiques, restaurants, speciality home stores are a great source too- & furniture resell stores.

If you have artwork to sell post it on ebay.com, craigslist or etsy--and get paid quickly if you already have a paypal.com account. Without linking here which I don' think you can do, tell us what you are selling and maybe some of our members can find the listings on their own and even buy a piece or two.

If you are a painter, contact small businesses right away. I can even start to count how many small businesses I see every day that could use a fresh coat to improve their store front entrance. Keep your prices low, and barter with them if they sell something you/family might need.

Same line, offer to paint yellow lines in business parking lots, fire lanes, etc. Again, keep prices low, for now.

Don't know what area you are in but if applicable apply at federal express, or united parcel--both hire all the time, pay more than you are making now, and depending upon the job within the company pay double/triple time over the holiday shipping season which will be starting soon.
You usually start unloading trucks. One UPS driver I know who has worked for them for 20+ years, makes over $100,000
a year average.

Go thru training as a welder as others have suggested--can start making good money within a relatively short period of time if you are any good at it.

Sell EVERYTHING you can. You can replace everything later when you get in better shape.

Should go without saying but cut expenses to the bone. You don't need cable TV (get the free TV type devices--which average about 4-5 digital channels that work well.

Use free wifi available nearly everywhere.

Because of an attorney who failed to fill out articles of incorporation correctly I lost the business I (loved) and worked at for ten years, seven days a week. And along with that all my savings I used to start it.

At the same time my father passed. I was the one who had to make the call on taking him off life support. That really sucked bad.

Then I lost my home of twelve years. I rented a great house on a ranch that a guy from Greece used high priced attorney's to "steal" from the owners. 25 of us went homeless so a guy from another country could have a vacation home.

With nowhere else to go I moved bak to a rural area of Wisconsin to prepared the family property to sell. I had two dogs die there, and a tree fall on my only car and total it.

Then I moved to the Phoenix area to help my elderly mother get settled alone for the first time in her life. An old guy ran a stop sign and totaled another car. Because I looked younger the police failed to fill out an accident report that would have told me he was from Canada and gave me no info about his insurance. So I lost another car.

Oh yeah, I also had my fifth hernia operation from working on the family property.

I've been working hard to open another business away from this ungodly Phoenix heat but because of today's new systems and property investors all they see are my negatives. NOT everything I accomplished over the years.

All either of us can do is keep fighting. Against all odds.

Oh, I've received two of those traffic camera tickets. I was passed going the speed limit in a 25mph zone by a a guy in a little hot rod but the camera only showed the lane my ca was in. Then I was cut off by a garbage truck, made a right turn but because of the high truck in from of me had no idea there was a red light, I got another traffic camera ticket. Now I go a notice I was speeding 38 in a 25 zone. I wasn't even on that road, I was turning a corner so now I'm hiding from process servers.

I don't follow a particular religion but I pray to a God every night,and now you and your family are in those prayers along with everyone else who's a victim of the times we live in.
