I work for Macy*s and am not surprised...This is all about prophet. Brick and mortar stores cannot compete with the Internet ...not to mention there are just too many places to shop...we just closed 100 stores a few months ago. Is this new....I'm checking.

Sorry, ok, now I've read the article. The store I work for is 3-5% over l/y pretty consistently. We are considered an "A" door. These kind of numbers would have been considered laughable in the past. There is too much competition in all the shopping categories. I'm all for competition but our communities have overbuilt high-rent retail while the internet only needs warehouses, robots and stressed out fulfillment workers. So what are we going to do with all the empty malls and plazas coming soon to our towns?
