Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
My grandfather died.

My mother and I were up around midnight because we had gotten the call. One of the lights in the living room exploded. The bulb shattered in an instant. We cleaned it up and I went back to my room.

I had the back bedroom of the trailer at that point. I turned on my television pretty upset that my grandfather had died.

My television was on VH1 and Paul Simon's "You can call me Al" was on. Suddenly, I could sense that my grandfather was there and I could hear him in my mind. I was upset that he hadn't graduated from high school. I graduated high school, he says kind of indignant. I was like, you are dead. He wanted to tell me that Lord Jesus was right there. He kept saying it over and over because he almost couldn't believe it himself. Then we said goodbye and he left.

We bought my grandparents house, and things keep happening.
A lightbulb exploded shortly after we moved in, I am a empath and have a weird abillity to "feel" and "smell" my loved ones. The first week we moved in, (july) I could smell my grandmother cooking thanksgiving in the kitchen. Then I an time and time again catch a whiff of my grandfather favorite brand of soap in the living room.
I keep finding feathers all the time outside and just today I was sitting at the computer desk and all of a sudden I felt really weird. (Ever used a oujia board?) Well my whole body was over come with energy, my rotating chair started to turn me * with that same energy* 180 and my eyes fell to rest on my grandmothers old winking owl statue. Then a faint wisp of smoke? Mist? Left the top of the owls head.
I got my phone out and snapped some pics but to no avail.
thats ok. I love you grandma, I get the message. :)
Dont worry I'm on the right track now.
Heh my hair is starting to stand up now as I type. It's not unpleasant.

One more before I go back to writing.

My grandfather passed when I was a teen. My grandparents lived in a small, four room house in very rural N. Ga. We were packed in there getting ready for the funeral the next day, cousins sleeping on the floor, aunts and uncles on couches, and the couple beds.

It was nearing midnight, dark as it can be up in the woods, and settling down on our quilts, blankets, and pillows, when we heard him walk through the room, rattle the door to make sure it was locked (the front door had one of those bells inside that people could turn from the outside to alert you they were there, like the early form of a door bell), and we all heard that bell ting like we'd heard a hundred times before as he locked up the house. This one was a sweet story!

"Locked tight!" we heard, as he had always said as he did the rounds before going to bed. Everyone sat up in the dark, one of my aunts and my grandmother cried, and it was a while before we slept.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
Two friends and I left our town outside of Vancouver to go on a typicall redneck trip to a cabin in loon lake outside of cach creek. The cabin itself was very old and tiny, no running water or electricity. A long time ago it was actually a home to many different family's. Very creepy place full of ghost stories experienced by family and friends as it was rented exclusively to my family for 10 years. Unfortunately this story does not take place in the cabin but far up the logging roads and into the bush at least 4 hours away.

I had a lifted up jeep, my other friend had a lifted truck and my other buddy drifted between veihicals. It was an amazing day, we had a fire, some drinks and did lots of 4x4ing in the mountains. It started getting dark and we were far from the cabin way up in the depths of the mountain off Scotty creek road. I was alone in my jeep following my friends pick up when I got a sudden chill down my spine. As we drove the chill intensified, my guts started to ack and I developed a sence of insecurity and fear. My one fried who was riding in the box of the pickup began banging on the roof of the truck to make him stop. He jumped out of the truck pale as a ghost and hopped in my jeep. He immediately started describing all the same feelings I had. We were heading home and the feelings did not pass but grew stronger and stronger we both felt panicked. My friend in the pick up who had no idea what we were feeling came to a sudden stop on the side of the trail, he said did you just see that person in the middle of the road. We yelled out to see if someone was lost but got no answer. My friend in the pick up said in a panicked voice, I have no idea what's going on but something is strange we have to get back and fast. The both of us started speeding to get out of the woods and just before we got out, I looked to my friend and said if anything is going to happen it will happen now. Right then a dog ran across the road and scared us half to death. A few days later we returned home and my grandma came over because she was worried, apparently a young man went missing in the same area and a few weeks later we discovered a young man was murdered.

That's my story for now sorry about the spelling, I'm just a redneck plumber.

Lived in a house that was built around 1880 and had a friend visiting that was a hardcore skeptic about ghosts, as he and his wife were walking down the driveway to their car my friend spotted a guy leaning against the front porch dressed like early 1900's. The guy looked at me skeptical friend and tipped his hat, my friend turned and told his wife look at that guy but when he turned back he was gone. He believes in ghosts now.

Being a Civil War Buff, I have civil war stuff I have gotten over the years. Canteen, battle maps, buckles, grape shot, eye glasses etc. Which I have in a middle bedroom.
So, One evening I had been sitting watching TV when I thought I saw my wife walk down the hallway and go into middle room. That's Odd? I didn't hear her or she didn't say anything to me? Then it hit me. Hell! No one is here.
I'm guessing it's a civil war spirit of some sort attached to one of the things I have.
Even today, I still catch the figure walk down the hallway and into the room.
Nope! Never had a problem with it.

I saw the 2 foot tall black thing, thing for lack of a better term, 3 days ago. Haven't seen it in 15 years or so. Any one else see it? I often see it next to cars. First time I saw it was in the 80's next to a Volkswagen van, three days ago next to a Jetta. I also see it in my home. Usually in doorways.

My current ghost story. Not sure what he means. I'll see him regularly for a while. I always think he looks like a troll.
 Quoting: Whiskey*Tango

Years ago I lived in the top floor of a 3 story apartment complex, the building was L shaped and I lived adjacent the stairwell on the inside center of the L.

One night around dusk or twilight, I thought I heard something strange outside.

I looked out the window to see what it was, and saw some sort of dark smudgy looking thing on the lawn adjacent the sidewalk. There was not a lot of lights around this cheap apartment complex.

I was straining my eyes to see it, and thinking it must be a black Cat or something, because it was about the size of a large cat.

All of the sudden the dark smudgy looking thing disappeared and then re-appeared on the roof adjacent the gutter, about 20 feet away.

This scared the crap out of me, and I hurriedly jumped into bed with the covers over my head and Prayed to Jesus to protect me.

I was scared to look out from under the covers the rest of the night.

It really freaked me out, I didn't really see exactly what it was other than a dark looking thing, and it had the hair on the back of my neck standing on end.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
My great uncle was a Rosicrucian in Quakertown, PA, and when I was old enough took me into the pyramid. Once inside, once is faced in a small room with the artwork of the dollar bill, skull, anchor, misc other symbolism. The walls unscrew and lead into a wider room with staircases going up and down. I thought it was hilarious that this cryptic thing had electricity and light switches inside. He showed me how to protect holograms of ghosts on the wall and a realistic skeleton. Upstairs was a bar. He told me the thing was to get members so overloaded with symbolism and esotericism that by the final degree they'd believe anything. Then, scared to death, members for life. Never saw a ghost, prior, then, or after. Paranoia is a business. Alas, so is schizophrenia, amongst sects themselves. "This occult ghost business is a good way to take women's money and fuck them in the ass." A good man.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
I lived in an apartment complex built in about the 1940s in college

It was haunted

Old woman a few doors down never said a word as she passed me in the hallway always wore clothing from the 40 s
Creepy
Anyway
I have several stories I could tell but this one is the best

One summer night living there I had a friend over to watch tv hang out

We were in the middle of a show when all the sudden loud pounding noise came from all over the apartment
It was like something wears ponds hard on walls ceiling floor everywhere

My friend was something of a handyman and said in no way could it be from pipes

The pounding noises lasted at least 15 minutes
And abruptly stopped

We were both upset and needed fresh air

We opened up the large living room window which faced the alleyway

We heard the roar of a lion coming from somewhere down below in the alleyway
We were on the second story

We had enough

I moved out of there a few weeks later

With college friends until I could find another place

This is a true story
Very scary experience

The next apartment had problems too

I went to one of the 'most haunted' hotels in the US.... the Crescent Hotel, in Eureka Springs, AK.

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

We waited for over a year to get the 'most haunted' room during the off-season

(the hotel was also featured on 'Ghost Hunters' and they supposedly got a full body apparition pic.

....well,

I didn't see shit , BUT...I climbed over my balcony to the adjacent balcony to get to a fire escape and climb to the roof. =-)

Up there, I found a small padlocked 'hut' FILLED with various electronic equipment and a narrow staircase that went down beside the main staircase hidden in the walls with no access doors in the hotel itself.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
Our house was built in 1870, so it has seen its share of owners come & go. I'm sure pets have come & gone while they were here as well.

Our upstairs hallway is super active. If I turn out the light to walk from the top of the stairs to our bedroom only about 12 feet away, it feels like I'm being watched.

My daughters boyfriend would sleep in what is one of the rooms we use for our graphics business on the couch. He said he would hear footsteps go from our bedroom doorway to our daughters & back again. Sometimes they would come downstairs & stop just before the door & then go back up.

He would ask us the next morning if we had heard anything, the answer was always no.

-----------------------------------------------------

One morning my daughter was home alone. My husband was at work & I was in class. She texted me & told me that she heard footsteps out in the hallway & then something hit her door hard. Her boyfriend was on her way over & I told him to get over here faster. He took a good look around once he got here. Nobody was here.

-----------------------------------------------------

One night my daughter was taking a late night walk with her boyfriend. She just happened to take a look at her bedroom window (it faces the street). She said there was a head floating in the window.

------------------------------------------------------

A few year ago, we did a major remodeling project in what was our computer room now living room. I got home late one night from work & my daughter told me that she heard a lot of banging going on in the room we were remodeling. She was the only one here.

-------------------------------------------------------

We rescue animals. For 10 years we had a guinea pig rescue. We've also rescued 3 huskies, a pit mix, a beagle & a mutt.

We have ghost dogs. To date we have a little black dog, a big black dog that I see with his nose on my table once in awhile, a husky, a little white dog & a beagle.

My daughter one night watched a ghost dog walk from my kitchen thru the house into our computer room & just disappear. The dogs watched it as well. Our one beagle was growling deeply.

She saw a great dane in the basement one day.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
I have two stories, both involving hotel stays. I hate hotels.

I was staying alone in a small city that only had two hotels, so I chose a old-ish Holiday Inn. I was taking a bath in the small bathroom. The toilet was about six inches from the bathtub. As I sat up, I saw my reflection in the shiny, silver toilet lever and saw something sitting behind me in the tub.

I saw it only briefly, but it looked like a Cro-Magnon man with coarse dark hair that hit just about the shoulders. Dark skin, dark circles around the eyes, a gaunt face, and hair on the chest. It was sitting up, face towards my back.

I ran out of the bathroom and pushed some furniture in front of the bathroom door. I just left whatever belongings I had in the bathroom and used the hotel lobby bathroom in the morning.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
My childhood home was haunted

I was 13 at the time and home alone
It was mid afternoon summer time

I was in an upstairs restroom brushing my teeth
Standing near the doorway
It was a small bathroom
If I turned left I would be facing the hallway

Well
Brush brush brush when all the
Sudden I hear a loud ""swooshing "" sound like something walking through water
The sound became louder and louder
When all the sudden I realized
It was coming my way down the hall
From the area of the back room
It walked right past me but I was too afraid to look and kept my eyes facing the floor
I did see a large foot wearing a sandal
The foot was huge
6 feet long at least and translucent
It had form but I could see right throught it

The large form walked right through the wall
and disappeared
I never saw its form in entirity because I was 13 and too scared to look

But I did see the very large foot

I never told anyone in my family this story and never will

I will never forget it either

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
My husband was on a training mission in Biloxi, Mississippi. He arrived late at night and stayed in the Air Force Base billeting. He never has bad dreams.

That night, he had a dream so evil and so real, he still thinks of it at times. He was in the body of someone else that was filled with rage and hate. He brutally murdered a woman with some sort of blade. The dream was so real, he could taste the rain, smell the blood, and hear the horrible, guttural noises the woman made. He continued to stab long after the woman had died.

He woke up in cold sweats and very nauseous. He noticed the room was dank and smelled and felt like it does outside after it has rained, even though it wasn't a rainy night. He could not go back to sleep because he felt there was a presence with him.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
About 10 years ago I was working as a nanny in Vancouver.
The family I worked for lived in a very old house that backed up into a heavily wooded area. The place was creepy on looks alone!

Anyway, if you know anything about Vancouvers weather, there a lot of rain, fog and overcast skies especially in October/November.

Well one cold, dark, rainy morning I was getting the kids ready for school. It must have been about 7 am. The little boy (about 6 years old)was in the kitchen watching a cartoon show and eating cereal, and the little girl (about 8 years old) was with me in the bathroom. I was brushing her hair into a ponytail and while I'm doing this we hear a deep moaning sound.

It sounded like it was coming from one of the two bedrooms down the hall, which was the opposite direction from the kitchen (thus I knew it wasn't the little boy). The sound of the moan was evil and deep, like a male voice. The little girl and I were standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom. As I brush her hair and hear this sound, I stop. She looks at me in the mirror and I look at her....we both knew the other had heard it. And in a verrrry quiet whispery voice she said, "What was that?" I could tell she was terrified, and I was too.

As I'm getting ready to answer her with s stood response, like 'don't worry, it's nothing," the wood floor in the hallway starts creaking, starting way back by the bedrooms and getting closer to the bathroom. I kid you not, it was as if a big heavy man was slowly creeping across the floor, the wooden planks slowly squeaking with each slow step. We looked at each other in the mirror again and her eyes were like saucers....it was so scary!

We were just frozen there and the squeaking continued all the way up to the bathroom door and just stopped. No world of a lie...we grabbed our coats, left his breakfast on the table. I swung through McDonalds so the girl could eat and took them to school.

Later that day, I called the parents and quit!!!!

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
omg there are some good stories here!

I have so many and dont know which to share. I have had ghost experiences everywhere I have lived. I am 55 now and it is not really an issue anymore, I just ask them to go because I am living here now so I would appreciate it that they move along. It has been peaceful for some years now. I wonder now if I am really alone or if they are just quiet. I am feeling a bit creeped out.lol

But, when I was younger stuff happened everywhere I didnt know what the heck was happening and generally nobody would believe me until something happened in their presence and then it scared the crap out of them and they would run away and I got to say SEE? I TOLD YOU! I cant even count how many times that happened and it is great fun actually :)

I guess I will just pick one.

It is the house I live in now. I was having the experience that the dog was afraid to be in the house. I would have to drag him in the front door and then he begged to be let into the yard where he would just sit. It was very weird because he liked to be by my side always. One time I saw him jump up into a chair he liked to sit in and yelp and run away like he jumped onto someone. I saw it happen and it was so eerie! I tried to clear the house with sage and get rid of it but it just kept up. Truthfully I just wanted to make peace and maybe it would stop bothering the dog! I was pretty resigned to dragging around ghosts to every place I lived.Banging pots and pans and turning faucets on, damn it! Crazy stuff. I could not see or hear anything myself in this situation but the dog was freaked out for weeks and it got to the point I was worried. One night a friend came to dinner who was skeptical about it, that is ok with me, No reason to deal with this stuff if it is not part of your reality. I was just going to make dinner and not prove the existence of ghosts! BUT During dinner an object hanging on the wall in the next room shot off the wall and hit a metal coat hook four feet away and fell into my shoe. We all jumped up and ran into the room, saw what happened and laughed and I knew it was the ghost but I just put it back and went back to the table.I think I did not even say it was a ghost, I just tried to pretend it was cool. ha ha oh never mind , its just the ghost, lets have dessert! A few minutes later it happened exactly the same! The object flew off the wall four feet, hit the metal coat hook and made the same ding sound and fell into the same shoe. I cant even explain how impossible it is that a piece of metal could leave the wall and fly across a closed door to hit a coat hook. Twice. The reaction of the three of us in the room that time was a bit more excited I guess because no one could pretend the impossible could happen 2 times. My friend then asked me to give her a ride home. She pretended that she was cool with it but wanted to go home. I kinda got the feeling the ghost was trying to make her leave so she did too I guess. She never talked about it afterwards and I did convince whoever it was to move along because I have lived here alone peacefully now for several years! No weird ghostie things. I am not friends with that person anymore so maybe whoever it was was making a comment on my choice of friends!

By the way, that object is hanging on the wall right now and I am looking at it. It is an antique Mobil Oil Pegasus that says "drive safely" I like to keep it by the front door.

it never has fallen off the wall before or after that night and I have lived here ten years. I dont know why I even add that since IF it fell off the wall it would just fall to the floor and not take a left turn to cross in front of the door five feet in the air straight across!

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
telling that story made me think of another crazy ghost story that happened in this same room.

one christmas my daughter and I made gingerbread man cookies. Or gingerbread people:) we put holes to tie ribbons and hung some from the tree but high enough to keep the dog from taking them .

The last one we made really big. It was a funny one that looked like he was running like in the gingerbread story of the gingerbread man running away. it was like 10 inches tall so we put it up high on the tree and there it sat very securely for days until one night we went out to the movies and the dog was home alone.

When we got home we realized the cookie was not on the tree. We looked around and just thought somehow it fell and the dog ate it but then we found it a good 12 feet away from the tree and the dog did not touch it! NOT even broken! No way a cookie on the floor and the dog did not eat it! How did it fly across the room ? How did it not even break ? I was quite weirded out and pictured the gingerbread man really making a run for it and scaring the dog and we laughed about it. But it went into the trash.

believe it or not how it happened but that was crazy weird.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
I've been legit "ghost" hunting at a few well know places. I am also the skeptic of the group and quietly mock the koolaid drinkers.

What I've experienced first hand aside from very clear "EVPs" that I know 100% were not audible by us at the time of recording...

Equipment "failure" is common. E.G. batteries on everything show as dead and equipment shuts off going into a basement or other room only to return to fully charged upon exiting the specific area.

I still dont believe in "ghosts". Folds in space-time perhaps.. even my experimenting with Quija boards have all amounted to nothing and I will admit 100%...

..."I Want To Believe"

Ghosts as mainstream culture's interpretation is BS.. Life doesn't ever really end or there would be litterally NOTHING on this planet.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
One night back in 1993 in Yellow Springs Ohio. The three of us got bored and started talking about ghosts and haunted houses. Antioch College had an abandoned building on the grounds that dated back to the mid 1800s. It was a safe house for the blacks during the underground railroad days, the old Pennsylvania line was right across from the house so makes sense.

So we walk up to the House,it sat on Antioch's property. The house was huge with over 20 rooms. There were boards on every window except the one we climbed through on the second floor. Only 2 of us went in as the other didnt want to and would serve as a lookout for us if anyone were to pull up.

As soon I get inside I started hearing a fluttering noise in my ear. I blew it off and helped my friend inside. Smelled musty and you could tell people were squatting in the house but nobody was home at the time or so we thought.

We head down the main hall on the 2nd floor. Its long and very dark. We had one mag lite on us but was the smallest you could buy. I keep hearing that fluttering in my ear. I asked my friend if he heard it. No.... We come across the stairs leading into the attic, both of us start to climb it slowly and when we both got up there we heard a loud thump. Sure that could have been anything but with that noise still coming n going in my ear I said lets get out of here and explore the rest of the house.

As soon as I came down and stepped back in the hallway I was face to face with a small softball shaped blue white light. I fell down on the ground and that moment my mind raced to make sense of what I was seeing. I dropped my flashlight and as my friend was asking me if I was alright and where is that light coming from, this thing made the whole hallway glow an eerie blue color. As he stepped over me and saw what I was seeing he froze. I pulled myself up and asked him if he could see wtf I was looking at? Yeah MAN<wtf is that? And why are you glowing? Both of us were glowing, looked like our auras.

That damn ball of light came at both of us and swirled around us from head to toe then floated to the corner of the hallway and just hovered there for a few seconds. Meanwhile Im shitting my pants and yelling at it to get away. The ball of light then slowly floats around us and down the winding the stairs that followed the wall down to the first floor. As it moved further away from us the light also faded as our aurus did as well. From what we could see it went down to the basement.

Silence.... Then I yelled WTF was THAT???? My friend,I dunno, wanna go follow it man? FUCK THAT,IM OUT OF THIS FUCKING HOUSE NOW! So I picked my flashlight up looked at him and said Im not staying here anylonger and nothing is gonna keep me from getting out of here! So we run back to the room we climbed in and both of us jumped the fuck out , Yelled to my friend that didnt wanna go in to come on. We ran all the way back to my friends house.

As we ran,my friend that stayed outside asked if we found a big flashlight while inside because he could see light coming from the cracks of the boarded windows as he looked from outside. No man, just keep running and we will tell you everything when we get back.

Ever since that encounter I have been able to not only read people in a sense but my intuition is through the roof. I cannot tell anyone what that was because I have never had anything happen like that to me before. From the way it acted it def wanted us to follow it.

SInce then we have been back a few times and didnt see anything but could feel something was watching us everytime we entered. The house was torn down yrs ago.

When I went in to Antioch and talked with someone who had been there for a longtime she told me that they had to take the doors off all the rooms in the house because they would lock themselves on the staff who would go in and store things in there. The doors had no locks.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
Not my personal story, but my families’ story.

My great-aunts told this story all my life. This event took place in Conway, SC. The low country of South Carolina has many legendary ghost stories.
Years ago (late 40’s I believe) all my aunts were outside in the front yard of the family home at dusk. What at first was thought to be neighbors walking down the street with lanterns became two balls of light or “orbs” as it came closer then passed by them when one turned and entered the family home through the screen of the front door.

The 2nd orb kept traveling down the road, then turned and entered a neighbor’s house.
My great-aunts ran into the house only to find nothing. The next day my great-aunts father whom lived in that house was standing in front of the local school weighting to walk my mom home after class. He was struck by a drunk driver, fell back and hit his head on a freshly cut small tree stump that impelled his head and killed him, The neighbors father who lived at the other house that the orb had visited died that same day or the day after.
This event was witnessed by several of my family members know to be true Southern ladies who would never tell something if not true.

True story…

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
I've been legit "ghost" hunting at a few well know places. I am also the skeptic of the group and quietly mock the koolaid drinkers.

What I've experienced first hand aside from very clear "EVPs" that I know 100% were not audible by us at the time of recording...

Equipment "failure" is common. E.G. batteries on everything show as dead and equipment shuts off going into a basement or other room only to return to fully charged upon exiting the specific area.

I feel the need to clarify, imo, that "Death" is just what we call that which we do not understand or possibly could without experiencing it.

We are all part of something much greater than we will ever understand. A majority of the population is just not willing to accept that. "Dead" or alive... what do you really matter to this planet and how 'mother nature' has kept Earth going??

Our definitions of what we know are just that. Observations we've taken upon ourselfs to rationalise and be comforted by what we "know".

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
Honestly I think something might be going on in my house, but I am not exactly sure.

Around 8 years ago I had a big beautiful chocolate lab, and for some reason he would stare into a corner of the room almost like he was looking at a mouse or something in the corner, but there was nothing there. Normally I would dismiss this, but he would do it quite often.

Around the same time my oldest daughter when she was around 2 or 3 would wake up quite often with perhaps nightmares claiming that she saw a snake. Of course I would never see anything.

Now fast forward a few years and I was talking to my youngest daughter who was perhaps 2 to 3 at the time and she mentioned seeing a black person with a hat in her room. i.e. shadow person. I told her to not worry about him, because he can't do anything to hurt her, and I haven't heard anything since.

But then a few weeks ago, I was up on my computer playing games and I can swear that I heard the floor creeking upstairs like someone was walking around in the same room as me, but there was noone. So like any good father I went into my room, got my shotgun and did a quick patrol around the house and all of my family was fast asleep and nobody was in the house.

So there you go, not exactly an exciting story but something that makes me think there might be something going on. And for those wondering I purchased this house brand new, so no previous dead owners.

Re: As Halloween is Around the Corner - Tell Me Your Personal Ghost Stories
I will admit, I'm looking for some inspiration because I am wanting to write a haunted house novella which I will give for free to the GLP crowd come Halloween.

Here's one of mine:

My sister died a couple weeks before my 9th birthday, she was 18. I slept with my parents for a couple nights after we got the news, but I was sent back to my own bedroom the night she was buried. I woke to see her standing at the foot of my bed, dressed in the same brown plaid suit in which she'd been buried. At first she was smiling, like she was happy to see me (she practically raised me - she bathed me, combed my hair, had dinner ready when our parents got home from work, we shared a bed for a long time, she walked me to school, read to me, and taught me to read), but I was so afraid to see her. Her faced changed to a frown as I pulled up the covers to hide my face, and when I finally got the courage to pull the blankets down again, as the sun was rising, she was gone.

As a writer, I cannot understand why 'you' pervert the wordsmith gift, not to mention giving glory to such an evil event dressed up as 'enterainnent'.

Shame on you for mocking good and glorifying such an satanic calendar day.spanky-saysy0uN0-no1
