Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1712129 This is probably the most ridiculous thing I will read today. That's what I thought when I read this thread. How ridiculous to pay $300 for a book that's in the library and you can check out for free. You can keep it all semester free if you just go back when its due and recheck it out. Ridiculous indeed. |

Like I stated before... You have to purchase an access code to gain access to the home works... Yes you may be able to check out the book from the library or rent it for cheap, but you still have to purchase an access code to access the homework.... The homeworks will be assigned through the selected material that requires an access code to ACCESS!!!! I honestly did not think about checking out the book.. And in the future I will look into it.. But that does not get around the access code issue... Infinity = Zero |

And probably could within a year or two when it picks back up, but I would rather go to school to learn. I want to study Physics & Mathematics and have a promising career in one of those fields... Funny thing is, i spend all my time in the library, reading books and going through interlibrary loan stuff, while ignoring most of my classes and the content (no i was no researching meth!). Yes, I found the professors that boring. Researched my own stuff, and by the time it was all over, i dropped out, and got two trade tickets. Now I make more money than most postgraduates. Go figure! Wait until you see the post-graduate price for shopping.. For me, about 15 years ago, I had to pay $500 per application, and than travel to each destination for interviews with nice clothes, including hotel room fees. I averaged a mere post-graduate shopping spree to $20,000 to $30,000, with no guarantee you might have a future. My advice for anyone in college/university, is to make sure that 1. You have a job upon graduation, with such courses like nurisng. 2. That you can gain real life experience in either cooperative learning, or do side jobs and/or consulting like with computer sciences to get experience while going through school. 3. If #1 and 2 are not met as conditions, make sure you can afford the post-graduate shopping spree and the price of admission, and you have the marks to go. 4. If #1, 2, or 3 are not met, it might be best to never bother, or drop out. Just my two cents. You can also work a trade simultaneously while putting yourself through college as a paid apprentice, if your hopes are high for something that doesn't pay like becoming an artsy painter, necessarily. Just saying... |

It's disgusting to have to pay this much, and you might as well get all you can get. Do the same for any other semester that the thing allows access for, since they might try to force you into buying access again. For books, try all the torrent sites, using either a vpn or a public access hotspot. |

I plan on working with the career services to get a job working at a local wound care facility that does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.. After all hyperbarics is what I have been doing for 10 years... It's just hard to get face time with these people... But still trying... My ultimate goal is to go on to grad school...... I may even switch from Physics & Mathematics to Physics & Mechanical Engineering since it looks like my school is going to be initiating a new Mech.E. Program by next year.... A Bachelors in Mech. E. Is sufficient to land a decent job if I choose not to pursue grad school, or simply can't. Infinity = Zero |

Perhaps, but when you get experience and give them attitude at an interview, such as "I can save you X amount of money this year - see what I did for these last two companies. It's your choice - take me or not, but I do have another job waiting". If you can perform, you can demand a lot. You need to be able to back it up or you'll be gone in two weeks. |

I paid just under $40 TOTAL (including shipping) for the 11e text, Student's Guide, and Solutions To Exercises (all exercises). These books would run me almost $500 at the university bookstore and probably $300 by looking around online. |
