Mat 13:52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Re: Validity of the old testament for christians?
Why is this even a question when the first Christian, the one that stated it all, having purchased us with His own blood, taught the Old Testament? What has changed?

Only one man, Enoch, managed to walk with God and it was said of him that he pleased God, and God translated him. This was hundreds of years before the law was given to Moses on Sinai. Everyone else failed and still fails, law or no law. Why do we fail and fall short of the glory of God and why did Christ die for us, to redeem us from what, exactly?

1Peter1:18 knowing that not with corruptible things, silver or gold, were you redeemed from your worthless way of life handed down from your fathers,

From the first moment man sinned, he became infected and from that moment, whether by word or example, taught his offspring to be progressively worse than himself. Eventually, entire generations are born who do not even have the knowledge of God and live as though there are no consequences for their behavior, who only seek possessions and pleasure, ie today.

It is at a time like this that the descendants of Abraham are led out of Egypt with great miracles, signs, and wonders and then given the law, the purpose of which was to provide them a proper way to live in the presence of the Creator. However, the minds of the people are hostile to the law because they have been raised to like and want those things that are contrary to what the law demands, so as a general rule, they obey the law out of a sense of obligation and compulsion, if at all. There are also those who think they observe the law that set themselves up as enforcers, who, rather than teaching by example, act as lords of God's heritage and persecute and kill their brothers and sisters with the law.

Christ led by example and taught the people the proper mindset or spirit of the law, so that their way of thinking could be changed from holding the perspective of a servant, to holding that of a son of the Most High. One obeys the law out of compulsion or fear, where the other naturally obeys it it because his character demands it, not obeying it being contrary to what he is. His death fulfilled the requirement of the law that a perfect, unblemished lamb must be slain to atone for sin. His resurrection proved that following His example resulted in eternal life.

If a person is living in sin and not following His example, he is lost, whether he calls himself a Christian or not. The tree is known by its fruit. When He shows up or when we die, whatever we have practiced to be will determine where we will dwell. One does not become a great musician by claiming to be one. He practices until it becomes second nature and he sings not his own praises, but his performance is praised by others.

Jesus said he didn't come to remove the law.

Go read the Law of Moses what it says about the issue you mentioned.

He purchased us with his blood? From ? Why? So he owns us? The moral and logic pretzel you must live in is amazing. He made us sick and commands us to make ourselves well.so he's pissed that some folks don't care to spend eternity telling the passive/aggressive skyman how great he is as a goal?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72764610

Who is they? By Enoch's own words, he foresaw that his words were not for his time but for the time of the end. The fact that his book is now widely available for the first time in a thousand years, speaks volumes about the times we find ourselves dwelling in.

1The word of the blessing of Enoch, how he blessed the elect and the righteous, who were to exist in the time of trouble; rejecting all the wicked and ungodly. Enoch, a righteous man, who was (1) with God, answered and spoke, while his eyes were open, and while he saw a holy vision in the heavens. This the angels showed me.

2From them I heard all things, and understood what I saw; that which will not take place in this generation, but in a generation which is to succeed at a distant period, on account of the elect.

I suggest not going down this path if you wish to remain christians.

people who focus on the OT tend to leave christianity.
its a known side effect.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

There is no solution to the Jewish problem.
There is no answer to the Jewish question.

Judaism is the solution, Judaism is the answer.

Take it out of the Bible.

All of your questions have easy and non-pretzel logic answers. But what good would they do being explained to someone with such a hard heart?

When you've grown tired of this hatred, and realize you are not enough to justify your life, find a good independent church, you'll find a way that you will be justified, and then sanctified for an eternal life of service, and of extreme blessing.

It is all so easy.

Re: Validity of the old testament for christians?
'Christ' fulfilled the law - he didnt abolish it or make it obsolete.

In the scriptures (those selected to be part of the Bible by the blasphemous, pagan Church) you can find all your answers. I also suggest reading the apocryphs and gnostic scriptures to have a better view.
As its said - learn everything and take the good and valuable from it.

The main mistake made by almost all Christians...
It is said to follow and build the church on PETER - so why did you rejected his ways and selected PAUL teachings?

Peter wanted to follow the old ways and Hebrew laws - its Paul that decided to abolish it and desecrate/paganise early christianity.
They hide it and marginalise that conflict - and it was the most significant moment which lead to abandoning early ways.

(In that context you may try to make another statement:
Mahomet came as a consequence of that and was sent because people didnt follow Gods rules again and left the right path shown by Christ)

I should probably expect a rant now .
I do not care - Im not a part of this whole judeo-christo-islamic religion. Not an enemy though.
