Letting my gray hair grow in
Did it eight years ago. It was really pretty but husband was not a fan. Even total strangers complimented me. Now letting it grow in but am going to keep my hair long instead of a bob. Any other woman doing the same? I'm glad I'm doing this.

Re: Letting my gray hair grow in
I stopped coloring my hair in 2008. It's totally white in the front now. I grew it out so it is very long, My hair is strong and healthy without the chemical damage that coloring leaves you with. I get great compliments on my hair all the time. No more money wasted on hair color.

GOOD FOR YOU!!

now just be sure to take care of it!!

ALWAYS USE SHAMPOOS & CONDITIONERS MADE FOR SILVER/GRAY HAIR.....

you'll really like the results!! no 'yellow' look to your hair; it'll shine and be in really good shape...

I bet it's gorgeous. Wish I had started this summer. It will take a lot of patience on my part. I can already feel my hair feeling healthier at my roots.
I liked it okay in a shag and the bob cut but got impatient the longer it got for some reason. Yep, no more wasted money and am going to get a trim today. Still want it layered and long. Thanks for the support!

Yep. Still have some when my hair was dyed platinum a year ago. Went back to a natural brunette and glad I kept that stuff because it was expensive. What do you use? Can I use it on my partially dyed brown hair?

That's how I feel about it. Natural and real. People think I'm 45 when I'm actually 55, which is nice but I now feel like I just need to be more myself now and I'm good with that.

Silver highlights are in now. It costs a crap load of money to have it done professionally, but it looks really good.

Letting mine grow out. Husband balked when I told him, but I'm done with this fake crap. I don't care anymore if it makes me look "old." What's so wrong with old anyway? I don't understand a culture that thinks there is something wrong and bad about having life experience.

If you think about it, there's something a little bit punk about refusing to toe the line with hair color. I like to think about it as a rebellion and it makes me feel good.

Ready to give the finger to these dumb beauty standards. Not because I'm some kind of feminist, but because this is a bullshit waste of time that does not matter a bit int he greater scheme of life.

That's exactly how I feel. If we are told we need to love ourselves and be ourselves, then why can't we embrace our real selves in that way? They are dumb standards. I feel rebellious too doing this. My husband told me if I don't like it, I can change back to dying it and I just laughed at him. Our 27 year old daughter is the one who wants me to go back to blonde. She is a beautiful natural blonde and I think she always liked the "They look like sisters" thing with us. But, I just have to be myself now. I even figured out that I am not a "Winter" color palatte but saw I look my best with more subdued strong colors -being a True Summer instead. I'm not a feminist either.... Just feel like embracing how God made me. Loved your post.

Re: Letting my gray hair grow in
I really don't like gray hair on anyone, male or female. I don't want it on me and certainly not on a girlfriend, and I'm pushing 70. I want a girl to look young and hot regardless of her real age. I also want her to climb mountains and go diving with me, but mostly just have hot sex.

If you can't be young, at least look and act young.

No ma'am. I wouldn't look good in gray.
And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

My mom is 73 and still colors her hair. Her reasoning is that she doesn't want it to look salt and peppery. I asked her how would she know unless she let it grow out.

But womenfolk have their vanity, just like some guys that wrap those last remaining strands of hair on their heads!

Good for her lol. There's nothing wrong with a Mom looking after herself.

I just got to the stage where I wanted to be natural. I'm a very pale, blue eyed, blonde. No body hair, or if I have it's so blond and fine it can't be seen, and fine wispy long blonde hair ( on my head) lol.

I always wanted to look dramatic so for years I dyed my hair black and that was fine.....Until I had a reaction to the dye.

It was terrible. I was so ill. My scalp was totally fked up for at least a year so I went natural. The colour I have left in my natural hair is almost transparent and I have lots of silver. I'm getting on a bit so will just settle for the platinum look I think.
