Isaiah 42

For a long time I have kept silent,
For I long have I kept still
But now, like a woman in childbirth,
I will cry aloud in Travail

I will lay waste to Mountain and Hill
and dry up all their green Plants;
I will strike Torrents into Isles
And dry up all their Pools.

I will lead the Blind by Paths they have never known,
along the Road Unknown, them will I be Guide;
I will turn the Darkness into Light before them
And make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
And them I will not forsake.

And those who in Idols put their Trust in the same,
and said to their Images, ‘You are our gods,’
they will be bent over backward in utter shame.
