Where all the intelligent people are? | |
I_am_who_I_am User ID: 72573839 United States 08/26/2016 01:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We all know there are different types of intelligence. I used to cling to my academic intelligence as a huge contributing factor to my worth. But I have slowly come to believe that "book smart" is one of the least important types. I believe there is a level of intelligence that involves passion for a greater scope outside of your own bubble. GLP is overflowing fountain of this type. But a lot of that passion is misdirected because of a lack of intelligence in other areas. But it is a great place to mingle with others who at least strive to know more of the big picture. |

I agree with you. The reason I love GLP is because it makes me think. And that ain't bad. ;) "What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?” The monkeys are running the zoo. Don't let anyone dull your sparkle. |

Does that make sense? It does to me. Who? ~ What? ~ Where? ~ When? ~ How? ~ Why? When I was really little, I tried to stand up and pee like my dad did. I remember the moment vividly, my dad laughing, my mother saying that I wanted to be just like him. It was funny the first time, but I didn't much like the pee running down my legs. I was a girl, now a grown woman. I grew up to be very much like my father, but I learnt to pee sitting down, or squatting. That's how it works. I'm female, and nothing will change that. |

But who has the final say as to what result is closer to the truth making the person pursuing it the more intelligent one? |

But who has the final say as to what result is closer to the truth making the person pursuing it the more intelligent one? That's the thing. Unfortunately the so called IQ tests that are used widely today, are only in search of a specific result. In that case, the administers of those tests get the final say. I find this false. Its theoretical. Put these people into a practical situation where they have to apply, and the results are more often than not very different. The results of my own test where quite high but I don't pay much attention to them. I know people who've scored much lower than me but I feel they're far more intelligent than I am. By a loooong shot. Who? ~ What? ~ Where? ~ When? ~ How? ~ Why? When I was really little, I tried to stand up and pee like my dad did.
