Urmia Lake in Iran turns blood red

Urmia Lake in northern-western Iran is changing back to a healthy blue colour after bouts of wet weather rejuvenated the waters.

Last month amazing photographs taken from space showed the scale of the drought.

After weeks of dry conditions the water level had became so low that red-coloured micro-organisms turned the lake into something resembling a horror film.
