This was last year , I watch a show that sells property to people that want their own island , I feel bad for them

many either do not believe or say what does it matter , it is more complicated than most understand

Not sure about where you live but most nasty chemical plants are on the coast so when this continues even if you will have water front property it will be a toxic mess

Beaches erode due to water flow, not that the sea level may or may not be rising. People intent upon saving beach sand often build jetties out into the ocean in order to have sand drop out behind them, as that sand gradually makes it's way Northward, in the case of the Atlantic Ocean, the currents moving northward move sand very slowly Northward. People who are just plain dumb build upon low lying areas of sand and salt marsh, thinking that it has always been there, then are surprised when a big storm washes all that sand and their community away.

If glaciers had been all along the coast of Alaska during the last Ice Age, the original migrants coming across the Bering Strait from Asia, during the last ice Age, would not have been able to walk into North America. So, to me if glaciers are again disappearing from Alaska, we are about to begin another Ice Age.

It is absolutely happening. Having lived at the coast for a long time, we finally got out, leaving those with their heads in the sand. Each high tide storm gets worse and worse, eroding more of the shore. It's like a slow creep of the sea reclaiming the land. The residents in those low lying areas need to wake up. The government can't continue to rescue everyone forever. The last 15 years the change has been noticeable, for those paying attention.
