Sounded like a bomb went off underneath my house.....it was loud, then lots of shaking. I'm near Washington State, but in BC, Canada

That's right next to Osoyoos where I am. I can't believe how strong that was. I wouldn't want to experience anything bigger.

Seismogram shows large sudden movement

When they say sudden large movement, could that be a landslide?!

They did not say it. It is just a seizmogram. That was how I described it. Did you follow the link and look at the seizmogram? You'll see what I mean.

An explanation of the seismogram

The Colville seismograph station is part of the Pacific NW Seismic network. I guessed that this station would be closest to the north central location where one of the posters here felt the quake. It would be about 50 miles from Osoyoos, and the signal came loud and clear.
