But in the event she were to pass or resign it is the end chair responsibility to call a committee and assign a replacement. She would will be on the ballot but the procedure holds up until the electoral collage votes because it is their votes that elect not the popular vote. Electoral college is bound by certain rules and in good faith are supposed to align with voters but as with issues before we see discrepancies between their vote and the popular vote as well. They are not bound and can nominate whomever the major parties choose. If this were to happen after we voted but before the college concerned it would likely be an epic shit storm. Either way they are both almost unprecedented. The only other case we have on record was a vp nominee who dropped out 2weeks after nomination and they still had time to edit the ballots before election. At that point the pres nominee called for nomination and the commitee met and affirmed it. It's all the same procedure as long as the electoral college has not met.
