Quoting: Rufus Juice I called this ~ They just announced gas was going to $1.75 or less ~ refinement, crude, storage capacity were all at all time maxes. they just discovered more oil in Texas they didn't know was there ~ and the summer driving months are behind us. so one pipeline goes in Alabama ~ and everyone coast to coast freaks out. Settle down. there is no crisis ~ except the one you are creating. Nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd ~ before long Johnny Smith will spill a few drops trying to fill up his 2-cycle gas can and prices will spike a dollar coast to coast. settle. the . fuck. down. The news is the one SAYING 40% of gas to the EC is offline, not GLP, this is doom for the next week. |

PhobiaDHS User ID: 23716628 United States 09/16/2016 03:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Does anyone know what happens if lightning strikes an open pond full of a quarter million gallons of gasoline? I can't believe I'm asking that question, but Google doesn't seem to think it's ever happened before. This mess is just a few miles from my house, and I want to know if I should camp out on the back porch, Sunday evening, when we are expecting thunderstorms, with a bag of popcorn, and wait for some major fireworks. I've got a clear line of sight in that direction, and no plans Sunday night, and if there's gonna be a big boom, I want to see it. Quoting: Deplorable Revbo™ Sounds to me like an occasion for a BBQ! I'll get beer if you get steaks! Now, where did I hide my teleporter? If nothing better, watching the storms is fun enough. Giant fireball followed by shockwave and heat wave would be a lot more fun to talk about around the water cooler on Monday though... |

If it's not contained in a tank, I don't think it would have what it needs to become an actual explosion, since there's nothing containing the pressure of gases. The closest I've found on Google so far is lightning hitting underground tanks, which did explode, and lightning hitting refineries. Which, if it hit tanks, did cause explosions. I'd be more concerned about a fire that could spread and possible air quality, should a fire happen and the air come in your direction. |

After reading this, I went out to top off my tank. I can only confirm the stations are abnormally busy for this time of day, and I did see a pump with a bag over it. Quoting: everLearner its all over the news, called a buddy in the area and told him to get gas, in 1 or 2 days you will not have any gas, 40% of the gas to the east coast is off line. Food will be an issue as well, trucks may have issues with gas as well. I have a feeling that THIS is the "Tipping point" In the farsight remote viewing session for September (I know) They said that it's something seemingly small turns into a violent out of control urban fighting situation which causes a cascading effect Patriot_In_Waiting My name is patriot_in_waiting and I'm a GLPTARD If we get caught.....I'm deaf, and you don't speak English |

The area is all woods, so even if it's just a fire, that could be trouble. Western Shelby County is the only undeveloped part of the county, almost completely forested with oil wells all over the place. Anonymous Coward User ID: 37165642 United States 09/16/2016 03:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The oil and gas people love it that way. They only have a small amount of refineries. They have not built a new one for 50 years. WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause this way they can easily manipulate and control gas and oil prices. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72571700 Try regulations. It would probably be easier to build a nuclear power plant than a refinery. |

I'm going to guess that "feeds a gas refinery" means that they can't refine gasoline without natural gas to distill it with. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |
