NBC News said I should drill a hole or smash my hard drive with a hammer to protect my Data..
But when I put the hard drive back into the computer~? It won't start.. Am I doing something wrong~?

I usually just shake the hard drive really fast so all the letters and numbers inside get mixed.

Re: NBC News said I should drill a hole or smash my hard drive with a hammer to protect my Data..
Don't listen to NBC. The data will escape out of the hole, and smashing it with a hammer will cause the Hard Drive to spin in a Left-Handed circle; thereby, un-formatting any data remaining on the disk.

It's much safer to put a heavy duty electro-magnet as close to the HD as possible, according to CBS.

And not for reasons having to do with "the weather."
