1000 mph on Axis

67 000 mph around Sun

514 000 mph solar system around galactic center

1.3 000 000 mph galaxy through universe.

We are in one of the outer stretches of an arm of our spiral galaxy. Depending on who answers, the galaxy is 100,000 LY in diameter and we are perhaps 30,000 LY from the center.

So that speed you quote is supposedly how fast we are spinning around the center.

but no one knows for sure

If the speed of the sun is relative to centre of galaxy, what good will that do as far we are concerned? Since we are not sitting at its centre.
should the speed not be calculted relative to earth?
which by the way will be very interesting

The Earth is stationary, the sun is about 3k miles overhead and makes a somewhat circular circuit above it. There is zero physical proof of the spinning ball Earth theory, none.

Michelson-Morley - failed experiment

Michelson-Gale - failed also

Sagnac - proves the earth rotates. It is used in GPS, in which it takes the rotation of the Earth into account.

Airey - talking about Geo-centrism? I assume you are referring to the bible and taking its word literally.

Without going to deeply into it...

You cant take the first 7 days of creation literally because it just would not work. And this country that I live in does not exist in the bible. No world outside of the middle east is mentioned. Australia, New Zealand, North and South America, most of Europe except for Greece and Italy, or Asia exist. There are no countries south of Egypt according to the bible.

So can we really take the bible literally?

Re: They said: the sun moves at 483,000 miles per hour. BUT relative to WHAT?
The entire galaxy is moving, spinning due to its massive gravity

There is a black hole at the center of the galaxy with the most gravity causing everything to spin around it and slowly be pulled into it.

The solar systems planets are small and effected by local gravity of the sun, so they are all in orbit around the sun.

The sun is in orbit around the black hole, like all other solar systems in the galaxy

Get it?

Michleson-Morely failed to show the existence of the aether, not that the Earth didn’t move.

Michelson–Gale–Pearson measured the angular velocity of the Earth. That is, its rate of spin. Not something you can measure on a non-moving Earth.

Sagnac also measured the angular velocity of the Earth.

Airy (not Airey) looked for aether drag and did not find any, again showing the aether did not exist, not that the Earth didn’t rotate. Airy, in 1830, measured the Earth’s reference geoid, - that is shape of the Earth. Airy discovered that thirteen times the orbital period of Venus is so nearly equal to eight times that of Earth. Not something you would find if Earth didn’t move.

Inertia, as has already been mentioned.

If you throw a ball up in the air on a moving train (or in a car) does it shoot off at high velocity, or land back in your hand?

Once you've understood that, the rest follows naturally...

for simplicity, say you're standing still with a radar gun and the Sun is racing past you.
You would record it going 483,000 mph.
You could do the same thing with the Earth and record the same speed.
The Earth is also spinning on its own axis at huge speed too.

The Sun and the earth and all of our solar system are orbiting the center of our Milky Way galaxy.

PLUS, our Milky Way galaxy and everything in it is moving together away from the center of our Universe.

Yes, for one a lot of people think that if you jumped off the earth into space and waited long enough it would come right back around again to the same spot, this is not so.

Actually, the earth, moon and the whole solar system are also flying through space at an incredible speed, flying around the milkyway galaxy, which is also falling through space at another whole speed itself. So the galaxy is falling through space at "x" miles per hr (just a measurement to illustrate my point) and at the same time the spiral arms are moving at their own speed, and in that the solar system is moving at its own speed.

So in actuality, the son (which doesn't have an official name-I named it Dave too late I already named it)is moving and the planets are spinning around it kind of in a spiral pattern, there are youtube videos on what the trails would look like if the planets left them you would see a spiral revolving around a central star (Dave), and if you waited for the planet to come back around it never will, because we are all moving through space at a very fast speed.
