At the time of this writing, prosecutors had just dropped charges against the last three of six police officers accused in the death of Baltimore drug dealer Freddie Gray. The decision closes an ugly chapter in that sad story, in which the highly politicized Baltimore City state’s attorney, Marilyn Mosby, accused them of murder. The city descended into days of violence and destruction after Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake infamously gave space to rioters “who wished to destroy.” But that riot was only one chapter in a still-evolving story of death and destruction provoked by a false narrative of oppression and police brutality.

The Black Lives Matter movement (BLM) casts itself as a spontaneous uprising born of inner-city frustration, but it is in fact the latest and most dangerous face of a web of well-funded socialist/communist organizations that have been agitating against America for decades.

Capitalizing on inaccurate and sometimes outright deceptive media reporting on police-involved shootings, BLM agitation has provoked numerous police killings, violence, lawlessness, and unrest in minority communities throughout the U.S., culminating most recently with the horrific ambush-murders of five policemen in Dallas and three in Baton Rouge, with many more wounded. If allowed to continue, BLM agitation could lead to greater civil unrest, anarchy, civil war. “We know that LAPD continues to kill our people and then justifies the killings with whatever they think makes those murders justifiable,” Abdullah said. “That's why we were there."

Khan-Cullors and Abdullah, along with co-organizer Niki Okuk, were handcuffed after being ordered to leave the premises. Despite the arrests, Abdullah claimed that the protesters had every right to be present at the press conference—and, thus, stood their ground in the face of police authority.

“It's a public building and we have the right to make our voices heard,” Abdullah said. “We're not going to just submit to the will of the police that continue to kill us.”

The real agenda behind Charlotte's 'peaceful' protests

It’s just what MSNBC’s progressive audience wanted to hear, according to retired police officer Jeff Roorda.

“It fits nicely into the narrative they are peddling, and there is no accountability to the truth in 21st-century journalism,” Roorda told WND. “Consumers of news go searching for providers of news that publish stories that square up with their ideological bent. It is literally the media’s version of supply and demand.”

Roorda, author of the brand-new book “The War on Police: How the Ferguson Effect Is Making America Unsafe,” has no illusions that MSNBC or any mainstream media outlet would treat these riots the same way if it were white supremacists rioting in the streets.

“If it was anybody other than Black Lives Matter and their sympathizers rioting and looting, the media would call it what it is: anarchy and mob rule,” he asserted. “It is quite reminiscent of the children’s story ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes,’ where anyone who speaks the truth and calls out the rioters for what they are is mocked and dismissed as a racist.”

Changes in Charlotte could put controversial citizen review board back in spotlight

The citizen review board was designed to help look into cases of police misconduct, but for years, some have said it doesn’t have enough power.

“The police department should have some sort of civilian oversight,” said Robert Dawkins, with the NC Safe Coalition.

Dawkins said the board needs more power to do its job.

“If they can’t subpoena a witness to come, if they can’t do their own questioning, then you’re not getting a full picture and gonna lead to an officer always getting cleared,” Dawkins said.

Locals Rally for Charlotte Uprising

On the heels of the death of Keith Lamont Scott, an African-American man who was fatally shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer on Sept. 20, a group of around 30 protesters gathered in front of the Iowa City City Hall Tuesday evening to show their support for Scott.

The protest is part of the Charlotte Uprising, a group that was formed in response to Scott’s death.The members had asked people around the country to protest in support of their movement. Nationwide protests took place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CDT in a show of solidarity.**

Protester Audrey Keith said the protest at City Hall was not organized to respond to any recent, specific incidents in Iowa City.

“As far as I know, there’s not any incident that’s happened very, very recently [in Iowa City] that this would be in response to … since we’re not actually there in Charlotte,” she said. “As far as what we can show to people here, it’s less specific.”

Charlotte City Council Oks police review, help with housing, jobs

The vote means outside consultants from the Police Foundation in Washington, D.C., will review CMPD’s policies and procedures.

City Council last week released a letter pledging to focus on “safety, trust and accountability,” affordable housing and “good paying jobs” in response to the protests after Keith Lamont Scott’s shooting death. Police have said Scott was armed, but social media allegations that he was holding a book, not a gun, quickly spread and helped spark large protests in the University City area and uptown.

NC paper declines to endorse McCrory for first time in 25 years

The paper pointed to House Bill 2, the controversial legislation that bars transgender people from using public restrooms that match their gender identity. North Carolina's reputation has been "melting" since the bill was signed into law by McCrory, the newspaper said.

CMPD sued over use of tear gas, smoke bombs during street protests

Seven Charlotte residents said Friday they filed a federal lawsuit over the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s use of tear gas and smoke bombs during what residents said were nonviolent protests after the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott.

The residents want a judge to issue a temporary restraining order to prevent CMPD from using force against nonviolent protesters in future protests.

The filing occurred after the residents said CMPD officials failed to respond to a letter sent Tuesday asking police to voluntarily commit to not using force against nonviolent protesters in future protests.

“I never thought the police would attack civilians like this,” Ashley Williams, a plaintiff and organizer for Charlotte Uprising, said Friday night in a statement announcing the lawsuit.
