I would like to know that as well. If he was there in his vehicle waiting on his son to be dropped off from school, where was his wife at during that? Was she in the car with him or do they live that close to where she was able to record most of the interaction on video?

NBC said that they were both in the car and that she went back in the house to get her cell charger. She came out 3 minutes later to this and started recording.

They also said that the family didn't tell the police about this video until today. Not really sure how they didn't notice her filming though.

Apparently this standoff was going on long enough for the wife to run home, get her phone charger, then get back to start filming. So the officers were trying to talk this guy down for some time.

But again, he knew he was a felon in possession of a firearm, looking at 10 years minimum. He obviously wanted to be taken out instead of going back to prison.

If he was innocent why were the police there? He obviously didn't comply, we hear officers yelling instructions multiple times. If you follow directions you don't end up dead. Fact.
