I didn't feed into his neurosis, so he was generally a half decent person. Add in my siblings: older brother who wanted affection, rebellious sister, created volatile situations. My mom? Get along great still. Even though my dad was a horrible dad, I still fear both my parents death, when their time comes. My mom, her side of the family, doesn't live as long, 70's, so I fear to lose her first. My dad, the men generally live to 80's, and the women to 90's-100, so, he will be around a bit longer, but still. Sometimes I think and fear, the death of my pet, the death of my siblings, the death of my parents, it is too much and brings me a large amount of sadness. When I was a child, simply too many people died. Too many relatives, to many friends, I went to too many funerals growing up. |
