For the OP, just start charging him rent and utilities. Concerning food, I would just put a damn lock on the places that you store your food and make him pay a portion of the groceries to eat there.

If he doesn't have a job to do those things, then let him go hungry and let him sleep in the backyard with a tent, until his lazy ass gets a job.

I am thankful that my oldest is only 12 right now, but I have already let her know that when she gets older, she will get a job and help support the family.
