The other day on C-SPAN, they broadcast a 1960 debate between Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy. (This was obviously before Nixon resigned over Watergate and before Kennedy was assassinated.) I wanted to see what the past was like.

One of the issues back then was apparently whether to subsidize farmers with government funds. Guess which presidential candidate supported which position. Guess. Go ahead.

(They get asked about the farm subsidy at time index 21:22 below.)

Obviously: Kennedy, the Democrat, wanted to help the farmers with taxpayer money. Nixon, the Republican, didn't. It was the same old big government vs. small government argument. It's been the same stupid argument forever. The only thing that changes are the individual issues, and you can't predict every issue that's going to arise during a presidency, so in the end you're just preferring one form of governance over the other. The election is irrelevant, a waste of everyone's time.

Trump got ahead during the 2016 primary because he's a strong male personality with charisma. It's good for a leader to be like that, if only Trump would tone down his attitude slightly so he doesn't offend people once a week.

And I don't know why Hillary is there at all. She's a waste, a woman, and with a bitchy personality on top of it. They could have easily picked some other random person to take her place.
